So, I exchanged my Nexus...

Huh? Shouldn't have to flash new radios? The radios are officially coming to the phone anyway. If anything it's better to flash them if you are having issues so you know if they will fix the issues. I haven't flashed them because I don't have call or reception issues.

Ppl are saying that the new leaked radio had helped some ppl with data problems and what not. I was simply stating that you shouldn't have to root a phone and flash a radio to fix problems. That's on any phone, I'm not singling out the gnex. All I'm trying to say is that most nexus users, not all, seem to have an answer for everything. Gnex has low volume, that would piss most users off, but the nexus user some how turns the low volume into an advantage lol.

let me help you help me out a little, they are bolded so you can read them and hopefully provide some answers.

Loud is loud. I'll clarify, do you feel that your Gnex was/is as loud as your last phone? Does it vibrate as good too?

Seems as if you dodged his questions. Subjective or not, you should answer honestly as it helps others out.

I agree that you shouldn't have to...it should work correctly. But sometimes things don't work like they're supposed to. Phones, TVs, wives, tires...every once in while, they all have the potential to be a problem. There are 3 things you can do about a problem:

1. Find a solution (like rooting and trying a different radio)
2. Ignore it.
3. Whine about it.

None of those are necessarily better than the other, as we all have different ways of dealing with things. If whatever you choose to do with a problem isn't bringing any satisfaction, try making a different choice.

And here's the best part about the Nexus:

Instead of waiting for the carrier to provide you the update, you can just flash it yourself, simple as that.

I suspect most people don't know how to flash updates, so I don't think it's that simple. To people on here yeah, it's pretty straight forward, but to the majority of cell phone users, I don't see them getting a Nexus, experiencing problems and then saying "oh crap my data connection is horrible, oh wait I forgot, I'm just gonna go flash this update to fix everything".

So I returned mine and got another one. Now I'm not having signal issues, but the screen doesn't seem as sharp as my other one. The colors look weird and the screen rotates really slow, I say 4 second delay. My other one was about 2 second delay. The color's like reds look neon almost. Then when i go to my settings where the black and gray I can see my icons burned in and they stay there for about 5 to 6 seconds. I will note that my other one did this as well but they went away faster. So I'm thinking about getting another Nexus but I don't want to keep switching these out. I feel I should of kept my other one, I didn't know I would have to deal with screen issues. :(

I see, so you are the appointed spokes person for most people?

This is what I worry about, too. My screen now is gorgeous but it is a phone after all and the signal issue takes priority.

Even though I feel no need to answer to you given I already gave a pretty definitive answer in my opinion I'll do so, so we can stop with the back and forth.

Do you feel that your Gnex was/is as loud as your last phone? Does it vibrate as good too?

I can't say yes or no definitively. I don't have a decibel reader and I wouldn't have thought to measure my Thunderbolt's sound level before I gave it to my mother. I will say that it's plenty loud for me.

I'm not a person that wakes up easily. I've slept through car alarms that were going off less than 50 feet from my bedroom. However I have no issues whatsoever with waking up using the alarm on this phone.

As for the vibration, I can't say, I never use vibration. It's either silent or on. This tends to get on some people's nerves if I forget to turn it back on from silent, but I just don't like vibration. I look at my phone enough that if I miss a call, I'll see it and get right back to them and after all, that's what voicemail is for.

Thank you for that, I think that's what budmonster and I were looking for instead of some smart response in saying its "subjective" It took a jab (and an infraction) from me for you to actually provide a detailed answer. As I said earlier, yours and others accounts help me make, and hopefully other prospective buyers of this phone, a better, more informed decision. That's all I was looking for at least, no need to get smart or nasty. For what its worth, I apologize and hope your phone continues working great for you. I am still on the fence about it and will prolly still continue to lurk around these forums until there is a huge piece of evidence that convinces me to take the plunge (hopefully in the form of an update as there are too many users experiencing the same problems).

I have had all three of verizons big 3. The rezound has a great screen, but absolutely horrible battery life. The razr has a so so screen but battery life was out of this world for me.
I have the nexus and the battery life falls in between the other two. I like not having a manufacturer ui cluttering things up, but the signal loss has been an issue. I hope google can get it fixed with updates. Just never know. All three are great phones. My wife went from iPhone to the razr and loves it, so a convert..

The only issues I've had was not being able to get a strong 4G signal at my home and the battery life. Using it as a phone, I have no issues at all. I've had no dropped calls and everyone has sounded loud and clear.

Lately my signal has been a little beter in my home but. I never get fast/good 4G. I do like the GSM model better but that's just my personal preference. I'll probably stick with the Verizon version but I'm still trying to decide.

I'm part of the lucky group!! I just dislike the reboots on my GN whenever I use poweramp for about an hour! =(

Here is the bottom line Jeff. The vast majority of people are not having the problems with the Nexus that you seem to claim. That by no means doesn't mean the phone is bug free, or problem free. What that does mean is the problems are not as significant as you seem to believe, nor do the problems make the phone "unusuable."

I agree with the first part but not the second. For some small minority of people its clear their phone is unusable, whether it be reception that is orders of magnitude worse than their previous phone, or batter life of only a few hours with most things disabled.

Im sure the latter issue could be attributed to how the user has setup their phone, but clearly there are some people who have to return this phone either for a replacement or a different device due to a hardware issue that may or may not be fixable for them.

Strange I just looked at both of them at the VZW store and the GN screen just jumps out at you while the Rezound looks very dull and muted.
