so many complaints

No problems here other than some (pleasantly surprised how few actually) apps don't work. No complaints on the OS.

i have a nexus and i will say it has issues. They are "manageable." I have never had a perfect phone, and definitely not with android. It is sad when people have issues and get run off a forum because other people "see" the device as flawless. It is NOT. The great thing about a nexus is devs are wirking hard and you can expect amazing software amd roms and kernels to come. It wont turn plastic into gold and it wont change the camera sensor and unleas you are crafty, the quality if the speaker is not changung. There are real people with all levels of android knowledge here, can we chill with "if your nexus has an issue you are a hater" mantra? Dang. It is a new OS, expect bugs. The keyboard is laggy often, hello swiftkey, and i hope my auto correct is better than my current bexusbtyping.

BS. Maybe releasing crap software/products is acceptable to the masses where your from, but where I'm from we call that people being suckered in to being beta testers for the phone. Getting the short end of the stick, a raw deal, bent over and probed with no lube, etc etc etc...

You don't see Apple releasing iPhones with tons of problems or build quality issues(minus antenna gate), hell you didn't see RIM releasing phones in their prime with mass user complaints.

Really its going to be how Google/Samsung/Verizon respond to these complaints if there are merits to them, and what they do to make things right.(See antenna gate bumpers).

There isn't any need to put lip stick on the pig, if it sucks, it sucks. Nothing can be done about it, create the obligatory complaint thread and return it. The only way things get fixed is by effecting the bottom line for these companies.

Clearly you never used a bb. Type in bb and issues and see the huge list. hell this year bb had phones just dying overnight while charging. Quit talking out your ass all phones have bugs especially when you get a new OS. Apple has it's fair share of issues to don't think because they make an all glass phone that it is immune. Not to mention you need a huge case with that because 1 fall and the phone is done.

All new phones have issues, it's just part of the game. Everyone seems to forget this.

Also, LOL at the Iphone and Blackberry not having issues at launch. You been under a rock?

Lol, good point. I guess I'd be mad if I couldn't get the Nexus for whatever reason too :P

It doesn't even have to be the nexus. You can insert any new phone in there people will complain about. I guarantee when the next moto comes out people will and moan saying it sucks and has so many bugs yet it is on gb. No phone is completely bug free and with android you just have to expect some bugs here and there. It is a phone people and if you complain the speaker is not loud enough when you are in the shower just remember it wasn't meant to be a jukebox and be heard throughout the house. That is what external speakers are for=P

Guess I'm one of those users who doesn't post when happy. I've had absolutely no issues really so far. Sure two of the dozens of apps I use don't work on ICS, yet. And that's not Verizon, Samsung, or Google's fault. Sooner or later the author of the app will update it and it will be fine. Not worried at all about that.

I'm not having any screen issues, signal issues, really no volume problems(it could be a touch louder which is fixed with volume+ but I think it's supposed to be where it is). I'm totally content with what I have so far and it's only going to get better.

Ive had a few issues with my GNex...mostly battery and screen. Videos look terrible and battery life goes down about 1% every 3 mins. Frustrating but im hanging in there for a while before i throw in the towel.

Well, have been using my GN for the last 27 hours since I bought it. So far, I am really happy with it. I have found a few issues for my use (Ex: Bluetooth audio streaming, MTP data transfer locking, etc) all of which were easily countermeasured.

I've been reading those post of complaints about GN. Battery life. UI. Screen. I have seen all of them previously on other models. They are either the nature of the technology (Ex: Battery life, Screen), or the preference which we need to be adapted to (Ex: UI). Also, many of them will get better and better with updates DIRECTLY from Google.

Obviously, GN has many things to be improved at this moment. Battery life could be improved. UI could be improved. Notification LED could be improved. But, all of these CAN BE IMPROVED easily with updates. All other minor complaints I have seen so far also fall under the category of update issue. Also, even at this status (without any update), GN is far better than any other phones I have used (Omnia, i3G, i3GS, D1, DX, Tbolt).

Choice is a choie. It is to be made by each of you, eventually. For me, however, I am so happy with my choice for GN so far.

I knew these threads were coming and I LOVE IT!

THERE COULDN'T BE ANYTHING WRONG, THIS IS THE GREATEST PHONE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ALL WERE PISSING YOUR PANTS TO GET IT!!!!!!!!

Maybe Android is simply an inferior product to apple after all?

You love hearing other people upset? What kind of POS are you?

I love my nexus, there is nothing wrong with it, best phone I have ever used. Wouldn't take an iphone if you lined it with gold.

He gets a chub when he comes on forums like these and sees there is an issue with a new phone. Guess that is what he has to look forward to with his days...

I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. My galaxy nexus works GREAT, dmchenry35.

Me too.....NO PROBLEMS.....PERIOD.

Of course, an accepted "challenge" is battery life. Mine has been decent. Considering the screen is 4.65", it's pretty darned good. Would like to see how long an iPhone with a 4.65" screen lasts!! ha ha.... 2 hours maybe.

I'll chime on this one also.

I've been an iPhone user since the day it came out. Nobody comes close to the way Apple Fanboys complain and expect perfection from every device Apple creates. Spend sometime surfing the iPhone forums and you see threads on yellow screens, light shining through headphone jack, home button doesn't have stiffness, mute switch rattles, light leakage, etc... Their QA is getting worse because of cheap labor and mass production.

Just some things to toss out there. I'm not saying the Nexus is flawless, but it does what I need it to do. I'm happy!

What's wrong with expecting perfection and not accepting mediocrity?

I have had used many Android devices and bought an iPhone in Apr. The iPhone is the longest I have stuck with a phone by far. I had an upgrade and used it a couple weeks ago on a DINC2. After 2 days I was back to my iPhone. I just got tired of always switching this or that with the Droids. Yes the iPhone is is much less customizable but it just doesn't have the issues the Android phones have... IMO.

Yeah...from someone who was a BB user for 5 years up until a month ago when I "rented" a Razr, i laughed out loud with the claim BB was relatively issue free.

I mean, my Storm2 took 8-9 minutes (i frequently timed this) just to boot!!! Ridiculous. From the day I got it, spontaneous rebooting was an issue that grew worse over time (with 2 different devices).

Yeah...when it wasn't rebooting, it was great with email. I will give BB it's due. But totally...i mean TOTALLY sucked at everything else.

yeah i had the storm, curve, pearl, tour and dreaded when I had to turn it off and back on. I could get a lot done while it was booting up waiting for it lol.

The iphone is having issues with battery on the 3.5 inch screen I can only imagine how much worse it would be if they increased that. I mean there is a reason they stuck with the small screen, and it isn't because of the retina display.....

Who does that with a BB? Oh yeah everyone....at least twice a day.....I used to time my 10 minute boots with the Storm all the time because I was constantly messing with different versions of that horrid OS and changing things around to try and make it run like it should. I never understood, and I used them, why BB was such a big deal once the other smart phone started coming out. I wouldn't even say my email experience on them is as good as the one on my android phones now.

*Striped out troll bait*
Decided it wasn't feeding time.

Yeah and every phone ever released has had these threads, *breaking news* the sky is blue! Sounds like another frustrated telesales agent. For an iPhone fan you sure spend A LOT of time on an Android forum.

Look at his post history, he's a big deal. He says so himself.

This.

I disagree. Im stuck with a work supplied Iphone and the three things that shine over android phones I've had is the screen (not size), the camera and the battery life. With moderate usage calling only I can get two days out it, with data I'm around 5 to 10 percent around midnight (phone off charge at 7am).

That said I'd much rather have a gn but I can't justify the expense since the Iphone is paid for and so is the service.

You like the iPhone, and that's cool. But, your feelings don't invalidate the comment that you responded to. It's a fact that the smaller screen size helps preserve battery life in all technologies. Initial complaints after the 4S dropped included complaints about battery life, too. Hopefully, that issue has been resolved.
