So when will pre orders ship? Predictions?

@pags11: thanks.

"first hour ordering issues at 12AM EST": that's an odd time to start ordering, isn't it? that would be BEFORE the Samsung Unpacked event! how and why would they have the phones on their sites for sale approximately 10 hours PRIOR to the event? these events are usually EST 10am start time, and around 11am or 11:30am finish time, so 12am EST would be 10 to 11 hours PRIOR to the event finishing.

ordering it immediately after the unpacked event makes sense. that means that DURING the unpacked event, they would put the phones on the samsung.com site.

how do you get back the 5%, btw? is it merely a credit to your Rakuten account? i no longer use Rakuten, even since they changed from buy.com to Rakuten, so getting 5% credit to a Rakuten account wouldn't do me any good.

In 2020 they did the Unpacked event earlier in the day and didn't put the phones on the site until 12 AM EST the next day. Last year they made the phones available immediately after the Unpacked event ended.

Rakuten pays their cash back checks on a quarterly basis.

I don't remember every year of the Note and S release but isn't it usually like at 12am or later that day the pre orders began? I remember last time I ordered late at night. I don't recall it being like literally right when the event ended.

Btw another option if you're not trading in a device is to buy the unlocked model directly from Amazon. They seem to have a better supply of devices. Like the Fold 3 Amazon would have in stock more often to ship the same day than Samsung.com when there was backorders at the same time.

The Tab S7 for example was out of stock a lot last Dec. The same version is sold directly from Amazon and I ordered it at 2am and got it at 6pm! While Samsung.com was backordered for 3 weeks!!!

So, has anyone heard any new rumors? Do you think they will ship out next Wed 2nd day air and we get them next Friday, a week early like that's been happening lately, or just a few days early this time?

Haven't heard much of late. In year's past it seems dependent on the carrier in terms of the timing in which they are shipped out. I'm guessing the unlocked models will be to us by Wednesday February 23rd.

My goal, as many have already mentioned in this thread, is not to have to talk to a Samsung CS rep either on chat or on the phone during my pre-order process.

Worst case for those of us that order immediately once the phones are up on Samsung's website, we may lose out on the $50 pre, pre-order credit (as I don't remember it being applied until 24 hours or so until after the phones came out).

Am still expecting a $150 accessories credit for ordering the S22 Ultra, and trading in my S21 Ultra. Reports are we could be getting a $750 trade-in credit for our S21 Ultras.

$150 in accessories credit will cover the two 45 watt charging bricks I need, so I'm not too worried about the other $50.

Whoah, a $750 trade-in credit for your S21 Ultra? Yeah, I wouldn't be concerned about the $50, either! One thing about Samsung -- they have amazing pre-order deals!

Agree with you on Samsung's trade-in deals being good. We will find out in less than 24 hours what they are giving us for the trade-in amounts. Fingers crossed!

for those of us who want to trade-in our current S21 Ultra for the new S22 Ultra, we have few options other than going directly to Samsung.com

still, with ~$750 trade in value for our S21 Ultra, it seems like it's "ok". still a lot of money to upgrade to the S22 Ultra, especially if you think this goes on every single year, year after year, but then again, we get a brand new phone with the latest Android version and a fast processor, so the roughly $800 out of pocket (plus the trading in of the current used S21 Ultra phone) is ok, despite the high cost, imho.

Has anyone ordered from Samsung with trading in your old phone and have good success? Reason I ask is I've seen horror stories in the past of sending your old phone in for trade in and either they didn't credit the account or claim they didn't receive it or ineligible etc..... I've always gone through Best Buy before.

I've done this twice and had very good experiences both times.

Yes, I've done this with my last three phone upgrades and have had no issues. Always take pictures of the phone you are trading in and keep the tracking information handy so you can confirm Samsung receives your trade-in.

I made multiple trade-ins in the past over several years with no issues. The only problem was last year with Galaxy Watch Active 2 trade-in because they didn't recognize the watch model properly. But quick call to support solved the issue.
I know some people had bad trade-in experience in the past. It is a lottery.

I wonder if they will allow the trade in of Two devices like they do with the Fold. I have a Tab S3 laying around I would like to unload. They were offering $140 for it late last year.

do we even have any confirmation of when the S22 Ultra will be on the samsung.com website available for pre-ordering?

I'm assuming around 12am Tomorrow, or sometime in the early am if I remember last year correctly. Just note though even if you order at the first hour it begins doesn't mean you get it first! Some who ordered two days later will get a shipping label sooner lol.

@Blues Fan: may i ask if you meant 12am, i.e. midnight tonight, which is in 3 more hours if you're on EST? or are you saying 12PM, which would be tomorrow, Wednesday, February 9th, 12 Noon EST?

thank you in advance.
