Is there any way to get rid of the contact pictures in texts? I found that since the update, It takes my text messages a long time to load, and lags for a few seconds once I send a text.

Does anyone know how to bring the WIFI notification back? It used to work on 4.1.2 without any problem.
I'm talking about if you have a saved network that is require an additional login when you automatically connect and it is require to open the browser to create an account to register the device to that network so you can use it. Before as soon the phone is connected on top notification bar it is show message that tell the WiFi is require additional information to sigh in (or something similar) and when you click it is open the default browser and show you the sign in page of the network. After the update it is connecting directly to the WiFi but no notification and basically your phone is not connected.

Well since this is a sprint smartphone it comes with sprint connections optimizer so it can be set to login automatically by default but doesnt always work which is why I did this. Go to settings, more networks, mobile data, connection optimizer. Select automatic logins and uncheck the autologin box clear the email box and select the clear all automatic logins. I havent tried loging in to networks yet so let me know if it works.

Go to settings /application manager /all /download manager clear cache and data. Reboot and the issue should be fixed

My battery is draining super fast. I disconnected charger at 7:10am and now at 8am, its down to 88%.. i can simply watch it going down 1% at a time without doing anything.
What's the resolution?

If you can watch it going down that implies that the screen is on - the screen is one of the most power hungry components on the phone - turn it off!

(Assuming that you're already aware that you'll be lucky to get 4 hours of screen on time before the battery is dead, and assuming that having the screen on isn't your problem - you haven't provided enough information.)

Have you tried something like Wakelock Detector: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.uzumapps.wakelockdetector to see if you can determine what might be preventing the phone from going into deep sleep?

Have you tried restarting the phone?

If this is a regular occurrence then you need to provide three screenshots from Settings -> Battery

Also pull down notification and press the top right icon next to the settings cog or just drag down with rwo fingers and tell us what is highlighted in green.

For those who haven't taken the OTA version with "Knox", Thunderstick at XDA has put together an "all in one" flashable version of CNexus' odexed, Rooted MK3 (4.3) ROM with all the fixes.

Since I am new to this and I am not to swift on figuring out exactly how to do this even though I have read through the referenced post, would someone have pity on a dumb ol' Hillbilly and send me the step by step on how to do this? I know that some are saying "what's the big deal just do it", well I am not confident enough and don't know enough yet to do this. I have rooted my phone and have the CWM back up on my SD card and that is as far as I have gotten confidently.

As always I thank you in advance for any and all help!!

Ask why you want 4.3. There seem to be quite a few people who aren't happy with it. And once you've upgraded, your current Nandroid backup may not work if you change your mind.

Download one of the files in the linked post (if you don't know why you might want deodexed, choose odexed), and copy it to the top level directory of your internal or external SD card.

Boot into recovery.

Install (flash) the zip file you downloaded onto your SD card. (I'm not familiar with CWM, so i can't be more specific).

Cross your fingers. Reboot. The first reboot will take a while.

You will now have the 4.3 ROM with the 4.1.2 bootloader, which seems to be a bit glitchy.

Good advice. On one note for the people not being happy with the update, only thing I haven't been to stealer of is the fact I get a lot of lag with the phone app, crashes once a day, and if I have data turned on; it drains a lot faster now even without being used. Soon that'll be fixed with a custom ROM like MOAR once they update to 4.3....hopefully

Same here. Getting at the point were I don't have time for bugs although they could be very minor at this point

Thanks for the info. That works. I didn't know that there are more settings in that Optimizer crap. After cleaning all automatic logins that was saved, now it is show up every time when I'm in a range of Wi-Fi that it is in my saved list. I have to keep that application on to working.The only disadvantage is that is still coming from that Optimizer application not the browser like before. The reason that I like the browser is that it keeping my info and I don't have to typed every time. Still it is good work around compare to no notification at all. Thanks again.

I just got the update to 4.3 the other day and of course the latest version of Google Maps came with it. Previously I had uninstalled the awful new versions and reverted back to the factory install. I can't do that anymore and I am desperate to get back to 6.14.4!! I have tried several things but nothing works. Has anyone figured out how to do this?

P.S. please give me any advice in laymen's terms because I am just a mere user and don't know what most of you are talking about......

When you are in the text messaging program - go to menu > settings and scroll down to > notification settings - is that what you are looking for?

no...been thru all that. can't find a setting that turns on display when a new text comes in....

How about when you are in your home screen - settings > Display > LED Indicator

or

settings > Blocking mode > to see if anything is blocked in that section

or

settings > Motion
