I'm hoping this is an acceptable section to post in since it happened trying to Flash v.5. Anywho, here's the awfulness that happened:

I was running an old version of Wicked Sensations and decided to update to v.5. Did a complete wipe and everything was good. Was in Clockwork and flashed the ROM. It rebooted and hit me with this message: "Enter password to use encrypted device storage."

I'd seen this before because my phone was encrypted previously. The password I always used didn't work though. I fiddled with it and started to panic a little. Flashing the nandroid backup still asked me for a password. Finally I flashed the only other backup that I had which was the stock ROM - big mistake.

Now I don't have access to ClockWork anymore. All I see on the screen is:

Odin Mode
Product name: SPH-L710
Custom Binary Download: Yes (2 count)
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Qualcomm Secureboot: Enable

Downloading...
Do not turn off target!!

I just want the phone to work again.............ideally would like to get Wicked Sensations up but I'll settle for the darn thing to turn on with any OS. Please help!!!

Honestly, I have not used CWM since the og evo so I am at a loss. Hopefully @meyerweb or @golfdriver will see this and offer some help

It looks to me that since you are in Odin mode things are not all that bad. Now just set up your PC and open Odin on it and flash the stock 4.1.1 or 4.1.2 tar files -- or for that matter you can even flash an old 4.0 ICS tar. At least this way your phone will work and you'll be able to root your phone again. The gist of this is as long as your phone will get into "Download mode" (Odin mode) you should be safe.

Thanks for the responses, guys. I was able to get the stock ROM installed, thankfully. It's unbelievable how this encryption sticks with the phone even when I did a factory reset using ClockWork. Doing the reset through Odin did the trick...who would've thought!

Just download this ROM. So far this thing is awesome. Thanks for all you guys do. I do have one question though. My store app went back to the stock look and way to get it back to the black and blue icon? Thanks

Did you do a clean install? Make sure it didn't auto update. I keep auto update turned off in playstore settings. This way the themed apps won't update until I update them. I'll check and see if the playstore has been updated.

I love this ROM!! I tried MOAR for awhile but kept getting too many FC's and random reboots. My battery life wasn't great either. I actually just got a reboot two days ago on WS .2 while playing solitaire but I understand that its part of custom roms. As long as they are not too frequent, it won't bother me. For what its worth, I was doing my wipes without wiping the internal storage at the beginning. Now that I am wiping FULLY (w/internal, not sd card), I'm getting excellent functionality! Is there anything I can do to fix the framerate? I notice that when I playing a very simple and easy game such as solitaire, the fluidity of the card being swiped over gets choppy. Goes between fluid and choppy on and off. Choppy majority of the time though. I noticed this with both MOAR and WS. Is it the DKP kernel that is doing this perhaps?!?!

Yes sir I did a clean install. But yes the auto update was I on in the play store. I didn't realize it until it had started updating things on its own. I have it unchecked now. So would I have to reinstall to fix? Thanks for the help

Oops! I didn't know that you were on 4.3 Wicked. :-* lol I automatically assumed you were on v5.0 Wicked instead since this is a v5.0 forum. So far l am enjoying Wicked 4.3. I'll enjoy it even more once Dazednconfused gets Anakonda up and running, which apparently will be soon.

You can dirty flash the ROM to get back and be fine. Wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash ROM.
