Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

First, so a PRL and Profile update and then restart.
If that does not help, do this:

Dial ##3282#
Hit "LTE"
Hit "View"
That will show which Bands are Enabled. All should show as ""Enable"
Hit "Band Priority" and it will show them listed 1-3.
It should be Band 25 - 1 Band 26 - 2 Band 41 - 3

Are these settings good everywhere? Im in Indiana

Yes.
Once more towers come on line the phone will use the other bands for better building penetration and offloading to less busy LTE connections.
That is the theory, of course. ;)

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Just got the update in Hebron, KY, about 15 minutes outside Cincinnati. I don't believe we are spark enabled and I don't get 4g service here anyway. I did check my band Priority and it appears how Mav described above.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Just manually checked for software update in system settings and there it was! In downtown Seattle. No Spark here yet but have picked up 4G signals in the past. Curious to see conduct some speed tests to see if there's any increase. Can't believe a city like Seattle doesn't have Spark yet...along with other major cities. GO HAWKS

So mine only shows band 25 enabled. I'm assuming that means no spark for me? Or do I need to enable those bands? If I am supposed to enable them, how do I do that? Thank you!

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Instead if hitting "View", hit "Edit" and then you can Enable and Prioritize all of them.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Thanks Mav. I just got the update today as well and after the update my speed test results were really bad. I took your advice and updated my PRL and Profile and then I got much better speeds the first time but ever since, the speeds are really bad (e.g. 0.03 down and .076 up).

All three bands are enabled and in the order of 25, 26, 41. I'm right in downtown Chicago so I know spark is available.

Reset the band priorities: 41(1), 25(0), 26(0). Band 41 is capable of the fastest speeds in addition to probably being less crowded than B25.

Got my update earlier tonight, dont hate me but this is what I get inside my house now after the update...

My wife just got the update but I haven't yet. Not that it matters, we don't have spark here yet anyways.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Finally got the update. Speed has gotten a little bit better, but not above what I have hit before in other places. Signal reception looks a bit better, or at least more stable but nothing great. My home tower does not have spark lit up yet, but Band 26 is online and running though my phone is connecting to 25 only which is annoying. At least I think it is, it keeps saying band unknown of band 25 under ##DEBUG. I'll venture into Kansas City tomorrow and see if Spark lives up to the hype.

On the bright side the phone itself seems to be running faster.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Looks like I spoke too soon. I've lost any LTE connection, update profile does nothing and 3G is slower then ever. Joy.

Thank you. When I do that it asks for a service code. Is that something I have to get from Sprint?

To anyone who needs their MSL type this in to your dialer and your number will appear at the bottom of you screen

We don't have Spark here yet either, but I'm still getting download speeds of 46Mb/s. The speeds inside my house suck though, but that's why the good Lord giveth wifi. ;-)

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

Anybody our near Orange county or Los angeles get the spark update yet? I'm planning on grabbing this phone tonight or tomorrow and I'm curious what some others speeds are. According to the sprint map spark is enabled in this area.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

I'm out in Western MI, got the update this morning. Waited a bit to see if it was worth it and after reading through I saw that it was. I was rooted, stock rooted, after the update I lost root which I really did not mind. First it showed sprint spark, then I updated the PRL and Profile and did a restart, it only showed 3G and a small sim icon with a red circle an exclamation mark. Shut the phone off for about 5min turned it on and I have spark again With the bands being 1,2,3 as Mav suggested, no root but spark works really nice.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

It seems the update just killed my LTE connection. I get a spotty weak connection at home and it's 3G slow and I just went somewhere I used to get full signal LTE and now nothing but unusable 3G. Even the 3G at home, which puttered along pretty nice before, is useless. I can't even get it to pick up band 26, which the tower the covers my home has enabled. Shame, I like this phone. Even did all the troubleshooting steps I tell customers to do :P Looks like it's back to my 2 year old HTC phone that I have on AT&T. Guess it's a good thing I hadn't cancelled it yet :/

Sorry to hear that. Btw, did you mean to type that you can't get your home tower, band 25, to connect? Band 26 is the 800mHz LTE frequency. I haven't heard of any G2s picking up b26 since the update, let alone prior to the update.

Nope, I meant band 26. It's been live on my tower since early Jan. It's enabled on the G2's with the Spark update so it should be able to connect to 26. Though 25 is barely or not at all connecting either.

Re: Sprint's LG G2: Tri-Band LTE aka SPRINT SPARK-Update released.

I got the update yesterday. I have LTE in more locations but it is still spotty ! 1 or 2 bars at best. I still have little to zero signal in my home or in my office in lrvine so I'm not impressed. I have also noticed my Airave device is acting strange. Not sure if it is related to the Spark network or what.
