I read the how to revert to 2.1 thread and I have osx can anyone point me in the right direction because i am starting to feel overwhelmed

i dont know what i am doing wrong...i transfered all files into the sd card and wen i try to boot via apply setup:update.zip , it says files not found??? do I have to unzip modern file? Please help guys

If you downloaded the update.zip file using the Mac OS download link then all you needed to do was place the "update.zip" file untouched onto your sdcard.

DO NOT UNZIP THE "update.zip" FILE.

Anyone else having an issue downloading either the update.zip or the windows installer from Samsung? They FLY (1Mbps) for the first 60ish MB and then go to a dead stop - have a hunch that the Samsung download site is getting killed.

Finally registered to post this:

Manual Update 100% successful. After all the build up, it was actually quite easy. No problems to report as of this time (upgraded for nearly two hours now).

Thank you to Android Central for all the help and guidance while learning the ropes of Android.

I have performed the following with no issues.

- update.zip method from DI18
- Windows installer method from DI18
- Grabbed the Odin ".tar" file from the Windows Installer method and used Odin to flash with success.

Not bragging, just here to let people know what is working.

BTW, we have root access too! Check the Rooting,Hacking & ROMs section.

Hey Paul, thanks for your dedicated work on this, you are doing an amazing job, just one question, can I use this odin method over the top of the DK28 or do I need to revert back to eclair before using Odin? I thought that Odin wipes everything so I am assuming that the .tar file would allow me to use it while my phone is on DK28, just trying to eliminate steps

when i finished downloading the udate.zip on my mac, it took me to finder and there were multiple folders inside the file...Do i put all folders on the file i downloaded onto the sd card? or just one?

I'm having an error when updating from SD. It's not updating, citing a problem with system/bin/playlogo. I'm rooted and until earlier, had deleted the bloatware. I restored said bloatware, and now this problem. Any suggestions?

Well, I said no issues (non-Rooted) but it seems I got hit with the SD card bug as well. I copied all SD content prior to patch, reformatted, copied the info back over.

Still my wallpaper downloads from zedge were not showing up. My favs were saved in the app so I'll just download them again.

do not unzip the file. bring the entire thing to your sd card

There should be a single folder holding all the subfolders named update, put the entire file onto your sd card and then boot into recovery mode.
