Like to listen to internet radio while moving about the city (Chicago). Occasionally stream drops out and fails to restart. Network strength icon is "H". What does this mean? The users guide doesn't say. Any suggestions? Using Straighttalk AT&T. Problem existed before 4.1.2.

"H" stands for HSPA. since you are using straighttalk its will be ATT and Tmob data switching.
so maybe thats why the app is dropping data when the connection switches. I think its a poorly designed app rather than ur phone problem.

what app do u use. I use tunein and iheart.

Do you have a battery saving app installed? Some internet streams buffer so much on your phone that the battery app doesn't realize you're still connected and shuts down the 3G radio.

Straight Talk actually doesn't use both AT&T and T-Mobile simultaneously/switching. You choose at the time of purchase which SIM you want, AT&T or T-Mo, and you get that carrier's data signal. The only time you'll see the other carriers is if for some reason it's the only one available (roaming situations), and you'll only get EDGE.

It's an app problem. I some times get that with Pandora when I spend too long in a dead zone. When the buffer runs out and I am still in the dead zone it often times will get stuck and not start streaming again when I get back service. I usually have to skip to the next track as pausing and then playing the current song will just get me about 3 notes before it freezes.

Same thing happens with me and Pandora.

Go to Pandora's website and send them an email describing it. I have just done so. Maybe if enough people do it they will actually fix their app.
