Stupid curved screen

I'm an outspoken advocate for not using a screen protector. With the amount of technology put into the glass on these devices and adequate cases should be able to prevent the screen from touching a flat surface.

I have some light hairline scratches right on the radius of the curve and it's because despite having a good case with front lips it still scratches when ylmy phone fell out of my pocket onto my floor.

AT&T put a Zagg Invisible Shield curved tempered glass screen protector on my Note 8 when I bought it and I put a Unicorn Beetle Pro case on (I removed their clear plastic from the front frame so I wouldn't have double thickness) and it's been perfect ever since the day I brought it home! The curved glass has stayed in place and has showed no signs of trying to lift. The edges of the UB front frame sit perfectly over the edges to help hold it down as well... perfect combo in my book. And yes, I've had two minor drops already without issue Kirk!

But didn't you know beforehand that the phone would have the curved screen? Doesn't make sense to still buy something you know you really didn't want and then complain about it. *shrugs *

I think it's perfectly reasonable to like some things about a device and not other things and also reasonable to acknowledge that there is no perfect device and that every choice, even the overall best choice, is going to come with some compromises. That doesn't mean you have to like the compromises. You may be trying to say one should accept them, and that's reasonable too, but that doesn't rule out expressing frustration over that compromise.

What would be actually annoying would be the people who didn't buy the phone because of said feature and then coming in and complaining about said feature as if it's ruining their life.

While this is true, the infinity display cannot exist without this unnecessary impact point.

How so? Isn't the infinity display just their marketing jargon for their 18.5:9 aspect ratio?

They absolutely have the right to vent their frustration and I honestly didn't look at the situation from the pov that the op was trying to compromise.that's a great point. It just seems like it's a huge enough issue to where they are really unhappy with the choice they made. It's one thing to get the phone, try it out, return it, and then complain , but to buy it, try it, decide to keep it even though you still aren't happy , and then complain just doesn't make sense to me. After a week of trying to compromise if I'm not happy whatever it is goes back, but I get that we all aren't the same and deal with things differently.

I totally agree with your last statement. People do that a lot and it's super annoying.

Word :)

When another phone comes out with these specs and an SPen with a flat screen I'll get that one. But for now I have this one, which I love.. I just hate the design choice and trend of curved screens in phones lately. It serves no purpose and makes the phones less durable.

Apply a screen guard or tempered glass

And then have scratches on that? and have to replace it all the time because of the design of the phone causes it to get scratched or broken easily?
