The LG G3 has arrived :-)

Re: 720p Max resolution for youtube

This may not be breaking news but I have just realised that the Max resolution for YouTube 5.10.3.5 (most recent) is 720p.

This is strange I previously had the option for 1440p and 1080p.

Considering we are now moving towards 2560x1440p resolution.

Why would Google roll back Max resolution to 720p?

Out of curiosity tried rolling back to previous versions and nope 720p is the Max.

Very very odd.

Maybe they did it in an effort to save on resources. 1080p and up use a lot more bandwidth.

Re: 720p Max resolution for youtube

WTF?!

That's disappointing... Did somebody found any explanation?

Re: ROM Android Now :-)

Huge Delays so will be a few weeks or perhaps months before I get it lol

Ain't to fussed though I have a blazingly fast G3 on Android Now ROM and couldn't be happier.

The Note 4 don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to....but ain't gonna gripe about delays... These things happen.

I have a suspicion that the G3 is going to be one of your favorite phones for a few years.

Seriously without question the G3 is one fantastic device, its not perfect (I have an annoying auxiliary issue). However despite mine being the lesser of the two released 2/16gb) I have just that 1 complaint and that is pretty decent I would say.

Camera is great....

Performance is great and even better with android now ROM.

Features are great

Screen is great

And the build and design is one that I like a lot..

So yes despite the Note 4 being on order....which will be a few weeks before I get it....its a comparison and out of interest and slight addiction perhaps.

So yes the G3 will be staying and "Not for sale".

Yes it will work if you have Bump TWRP, it states that its specifically for v10L but I flashed from v10h without any issue's.

Good luck..

It doesn't matter what version you have as long as it is the correct phone model (D855). The ROM is based off of that v10L version, but your phone doesn't necessarily need that for this ROM to work.

Re: ROM Android Now :-)

so as far as i can tell I've downloaded both things needed... the BUMP TWRP & the file off the other site... still no idea how to get it to work... keeps saying cannot be extracted

OK have you installed Bump?

My method and others and it works is (make sure you download the correct file for your variant in the bump thread over at XDA). Download Flashify (google play) open and hit recovery and select your file, it will then flash.

So now power off then press and hold power & volume down Lg logo appears release then quickly press and hold the power & volume down again... This will show you the Lg Recovery (factory reset) using the volume to select agree to both... If installed you will be presented with TWRP and now bumped.

Using recovery you can then flash Android now V1.4 :-)

Good Luck :-)

Re: ROM Android Now :-)

it doesn't let me install bump.. do you need to install flashify firstly?

sorry for the dumb questions... this is all foreign to me!

Re: 720p Max resolution for youtube

I just got this phone yesterday and as high as I could go is 720p. Today, it is 1080p. My guess is YouTube messing with the available settings.

Re: ROM Android Now :-)

Its the second option and once you press it, you should then see the file you downloaded from XDA.

Re: 720p Max resolution for youtube

Yup and so it returns...what exactly is that about?

I was just over in the Note 4 forum and they still seem to be having trouble with it over there. What is THAT about?

It is due to the 1080p issue not being a phone issue ... Google removed the option in the latest update to YouTube. This is why we are all experiencing it.

Still seems okay for me Alms....I clicked on the Transformers 4 trailer:
