" never touched the social location app (thank god)"

Yes, that app is a blackhole of battery life.

Going for every other day charging using Juice Defender! I got great battery life before this too but now it's amazing! Wish I knew about this app years ago. The usual stuff is on: wifi, 4G, bluetooth. GPS is off (only Verizon GGPS is on). Standard battery and the usual phone uses (text, browse, some music, lots of phone calls, reading kindle app for 2+h at night). Wifi is on at home (5pm till next am) and 4G on at work (9-5).

Highly recommend JD! Here is a screenshot. Interestingly screen time is not shown. 60% battery left and that is after 25h from last recharge...

Forgot to add I am on nighttime saver mode and have display set on auto. Have been reading my kindle app tonight for about 45 min. Looked again and still has no display info. Why is it not coming up as a statistic?

This is probably going to sound silly, but how did you take a screenshot of your phone like that?

There is a program in the market called Screen Shot It. It's very easy. :)

OK, this whole battery display thing just cannot be right. I have been listening to pandora nonstop for the last 1 1/2 hours and reading my kindle app.

Neither Pandora nor the Display comes up in any percentage. Zilch. I see the same thing now I saw in the pix posted above. Except it now says 1d 2h 55m on battery. And now I have 50% left instead of 60%.

To quote my good friend, "Obsessed with how much battery is left on my phone. The status bar might as well measure my remaining sanity." ;)

Hmm...I searched for it and found a trial version of that program. Is that what you were talking about?

I appreciate all the comments and am indeed a tad more confused than i hoped to be in spite of all the input.

My son is going to pull the trigger on the Bionic once he can find one in stock at one of our four local Costco's. His nearly three year old BB Curve is more like a hanging slider at this point and he has been looking for a reliever for a while.

I am not as convinced as I need to be that the battery will last the entire day without recharging. It seems that on average, it will not make it through my usual 16-17 hour day even though i am not what i would define as a heavy user.

It is amazing that we can land a man on the moon with a Commodore 64 but we cant develop a battery for a cell phone to last one day.

So, i am going to remain on the sideline and see what other devices pop up, hoping that one of them can make it through one of my days without dying.

Sidebar: i have been back to the Big Red store across from my office several times to play with the Bionic. I remain completely amazed as to the widget bloat on this thing. what happened to the good old days when you could actually control what you wanted on your own devices? i thought the government was completely overreaching into my life ,,, now the thought of that overbearing all knowing smarter than me philosophy has invaded my cell phone is just nauseating. I think we need to form a new TEA Party ....

Trim Excessive Apps.

there are not any widgets that you can't remove from the home screens

I was under the impression the general consensus on Juice Defender was that it consumed more battery life than it saved? Anyone?

I tried Juice Defender but didn't like it because it took to long for data to reconnect which got annoying. Couldn't really tell about battery because I only used it a day

I have no problem with it being slow to switch or or to decrease battery life. I think if that was true, the app would not still be on the market!

I got 6 and half hours today.... here's my stats:
Cell Standby-44%
Phone Idle-26%
Display-18%
Android OS-9%
Browser-2%
Wi-Fi-2%
I think the wifi was me just getting home and downloading a few things...but 6 hours was awful. But it actually isn't that bad, because my school has terrible reception...I watched it through my first class, I lost 20% from just that one room. It kept swapping back and forth between no bars of 4G and no bars of 3G, searching for a signal. That absolutely killed the battery...so I switched off my live wallpaper, started Juice Defender, got advanced task killer (and used it sparingly), turned the brightness down, turned off the GPS, and just went on through playing for the rest of the day. I used it heavily through my third class, I played a few games, let people play with it (Camera, 4G, etc. I let one friend check out how well the 4G was [on one bar too] and he checked his NFL Fantasy football team real quick. Quick and speedy, like it should be) and helped my friend type out an essay he had forgotten to type the night before. It lasted pretty well up until my fourth class (teacher's assistant), I walked into it with 30% battery left...and left early to go to lunch (me and the other TA were distracting the class...go figure) with about 20% left. I played music in the car, 4G still on. I finally switched off 4G at the restaurant, and it went down to 5% by the end of lunch. My fifth class I had it turned off, but turned it on once to show my friend (who is jealous because he had bought the Incredible 2) and he let me use his charger for a good 10 minutes (I hate that it doesn't show me the actual percentage, it was "still" at 5%). Turned it on one more time to take a funny picture, and it stayed off until I went home and played music in the car again.
I got it home before it died :D and just installing some other stuff, and I'll be testing it tomorrow when I don't have school and I'm on WiFi at home all day (well unless I go somewhere obviously, but I'll take my charger just in case. Which is also something I'm going to be doing at school...I can always charge it during my fourth, fifth, and sixth classes. And I'm buying a car charger) and monday I'll try it out with juice defender on all day, and it set to stop all data when the screen is off.
All in all, this thing has pretty nice battery life for a 4G device. I don't plan on having to actually turn off the 4G very often if I keep Juice Defender on (and I'm thinking of purchasing the pro version too) and keep my brightness down a little. My only problem I'm going to have with battery life is that 4G is new in my town, and there is never any reception at school, I think they purposely do that.

battery level at 51%
Angry birds - 30 min
brighntess - low the whole time except for my walk home in hot and sunny Florida (auto brightness for 20 mins)
wifi - 6 hrs
checked forums and watched videos
extended battery
4g on the whole time.

Extended battery.

Haven't been getting stellar battery life. The phone will last 3-4 hour of continuous usage. :'(

Yeah I've noticed I always get crappy reception at school too.

When I was in school back in the nineties, you were not allowed to have cell phones in the building. I realize that's tough to enforce, but there really is no legitimate reason to have your phone in school.

Remember when they wouldn't let us have beepers in schools?

Yes I do :-) Some people may try to justify having a cell phone in school for emergency purposes. That is complete bull. If anyone needs to get ahold of their kids they can call the main office. Kids will also try to justify having the cell phone because it can be there calculator, amongst other things. The problem is that they can and will use it for things that are not related to school during the day. How do I know? Because I'm the 1 that would do so :-)

I was certainly up to no good with cell phones and pagers in high school. Not a lot of kids had cell phones until I was a senior though.

Yeah, I graduated in 99. Some had pagers...I had a cell phone w/70 min plan. Used in one day. D'oh! Oh..and to keep on topic, the battery life was awesome :-) back then, people usually cheated by using their graphing calculators.
