The Official Battery Life Thread

The battery life is horrible, I am running it exactly as I did my Evo 4G. In 6 hours today, it was at 29%. The Evo used to last me the whole day (wake up to sleeping). I haven't used 3D or 4G all day. This was with normal use mostly on WiFi. I did all the playing with the phone yesterday.

Unless I find something out, I will go back to the original Evo and be fine with it.

I don't like iphones, but the iphone 4 has a better battery life I am pretty sure. I realize that is because it is much more limited, but the Evo 3D definitely doesn't have the best battery life on a smart phone haha

I Did not say the 3d has the greatest battery life on a smartphone,, i said it has greatest battery life on a smartphone "i" ever had.

Battery for me is pretty good got a day up to 7pm so it was good day plus I was on the phone on n off

12h 52m since taken off the charger. Battery at 65%. It didn't get used a whole lot today but that is still better than my OG Evo. Even if I didn't touch that thing it would drain steadily throughout the day. I'm happy with it I guess.

There was no way my EVO 4G would ever make it through the day with needing a charge along the way. Today is my first day with my EVO 3D and I have taken multiple 3D pics and videos, dowloaded a bunch of apps from the Market, used Google maps and Google navigation and surfed the web (as I am doing now) and my battery isn't even close to going yellow!! The battery life on the 3D is at least twice as good for me.

The processor does use smaller transistors than the Evo 4G's. Less power draw, less heat.

For everyone getting bad battery life, I'd give it a bit I have heard that there is some adjusting between the system and the battery in the first couple of days. Yesterday my battery life was awful. Went from ~50% to 10% in 3 hours with just 30-45 min of browsing and 30-45 min of setting up apps.

Today, mine's at 42%, 14 hours in. It started at 94%. Used it for some browsing for 45-60 minutes, took 3D pictures and videos while playing music over the speaker phone for about 15 minutes, navigated with it for 30 minutes, watched 5 minutes of Green Hornet, normal text/email/facebook checks (2-3 times an hour). 4G is off, 3G/Wireless/GPS on, Brightness Auto, Auto-Sync on.

Coming from EVO 4G to EVO3D .. EVO3D has much better battery life.. I would say EVO3D w/ default battery is getting closer to what I get with the EVO 4G w/ an extended battery... I've yet to tweak the power settings either, but those are going to come in handy for when I forget to turn something off when leaving home.. REALLY Like the new phone and I loved my EVO 4G.. Enjoying the SUPER speed boost.

i'm loving the batt. life on the evo 3d. so far i can go a full day at work with playing games, surfing the net, watching vids., talking on phone, texting and by the time i leave to go home i still have half batt. life

I am coming from a overclocked Palm Pre and this is amazing in bat life. I would have held out for the pre 3 but I needed a new phone and I am soooo glad I got this. I just ordered 2 extra batteries and a Dock Charger from ebay that are 1850mAh for 12 bucks! I checked and they are the same exact size as the ones in our phones the only thing is its coming from china so it takes for ever. I dont think battery life will be too much of an issue with the extra batteries. just swap them out when one gets low and load the next one... I know I will tether way to much to worry about bat life.

Anyone know if these batteries will break anything on our phones?

I'm impressed so far. At least 20-30% better than my average life on my EVO 4G.

Probably a bad battery out there here and there but most people likely need to charge to 100% then full drain all the way to 0% a few times and their batteries should adjust and be good. I purposely turned everything on and went wild to drain like this a couple of times before bed and now it's just wonderful battery life.

In loving the battery life on this thing. So far i am sitting at about 6 and a half battery life and at 45%.

I have done maybe about 30 plus text messages, facebook checks, this forum checks, google maps, streaming muwic for about an hour through google music, downloaded an app and took some 3# pictures. Loving it.

It seems, my battery life is great so far, I just can't get it to charge past 70%, I also downloaded a battery widget from the market. Anyone having this issue?

my 1st day with the evo 3d the battery wasn't too good at all but the next day it didnt hit 15 percent till 15 hours after it left the charger
