Verizon Store confirmed 20 units, $299.99 price

I have a very good personal friend who walked out of the building to tell me that his Verizon Wireless store got 20 phones in. He checked my upgrade status and confirmed the price will be $299.99.

He said he could not confirm, because Verizon has not made it official to them, but as soon as he gets confirmation that it is Friday he will tell me. Crazy that their employees have the phones in hand yet still no confirmed sales date! Lets hope it is Friday!

I could understand them not announcing this, if they do a somewhat muted release, because it was delayed from a Nov. release. Make sure their ducks are in a row, target accquired, then press fire.

In other words, instead of premature eja---you-know-what-tion, VZW has been suffering from E.D. with this particular launch....

I thought it was called a hard launch if they have parts in hand. ;-)

Re: Verizon Store confirmed 20 units, $299.99 price

$299 is such a shame. The Galaxy Nexus was suppose to be apart of 'Samsung's Holiday Portfolio' -- which is still going on -- for $199. Messed up we missed out on the opportunity and will no longer do this deal.

Re: Verizon Store confirmed 20 units, $299.99 price

Feel the same way you do..... probably will still whore myself out for the phone.

Re: Verizon Store confirmed 20 units, $299.99 price

I'm guessing the full price will be $750.00. Anything better would be gravy.

Re: Verizon Store confirmed 20 units, $299.99 price

I don't think there will be any problem picking one up Friday if most stores stock close to 20 of them, good news.

Went to the same store and spoke to same manager. Store getting phone shipment today, flash will be an update, waiting for go ahead to start selling their 2 remaing available they couldnt set aside on 12/9. FCFS! Store opens 9am. Again those on the list will be contacted that morning and have til the end of the business day to pick up. No worries ill be there by 9am! Also no google wallet because verizon has another deal with third party that may offer similiar app so it was considered "conflict of interest". Accessory bundles also will be available that day. Probably same info but i felt compelled to share!

lmfao called my store and they still dont have any info on the Nexus. But they did say when it comes out, i can bring my accessories i bought online and return them in store for a refund. I was a bit worried, so at least that clears that up.

I called a local store this afternoon and the convo went something like this:

Me: Are you getting the Galaxy Nexus anytime soon?
Verizon Employee: We already have it.
Me: Oh great. So it's on sale already?
Verizon Employee: No. We're hoping it will go on sale this month.
Me: Wait. You already have the phone, but you might not sell it til January?
Verizon Employee: We haven't been given a date yet.
Me: Do you normally get phones in and sit on them for several weeks?
Verizon Employee: No. Usually we get them in and start selling them within a week.
Me: So you have no idea when this will launch?
Verizon Employee: Well, we usually launch on Thur... (weird pause)
Me: Thursdays are normal launch days?
Verizon Employee: Um, uh, yeah Thursdays are when phones usually launch.

So, take it with a huge grain (or multiple grains if that's how you roll) of salt. I still am pretty sure we'll see the official launch on Friday, and I think there may even be a "soft" launch on Thursday for those who walk in and ask for it. That's my plan anyway.

To me it sounds like they may not have known just yet and they were making an educated guess since they "normally" launch phones on Thursday and they had the phone in and they don't normally sit on them once they get them. This may have been before they got the official word at that particular store.

I agree. I don't think she was trying to pull anything. Sorry if I gave that impression. She even commented at one point that she hopes it launches soon because, "Then I can have one". So, even the employees want it.

I'm just guessing that given all the people hearing that they can pick it up on the 8th, it may just be possible to get one if you ask for it before the "official" launch. The Verizon store is on my way into work, so I'll swing by Thursday morning and see what they say.

Talked to a rep earlier today about when the Nexus was going to be on sale, he was pretty sure it was this Friday. They have the Nexus in their system all over the place just no date. But what he did find out was that the "Business" contract phones were priced at $299 and were going out this Friday.

I'm gonna prob end up putting my parents on my plan and getting the Nexus for one of them on a contract price then have them switch the numbers and they get my Bionic. Used my upgrade on the Bionic, while it is still a great phone I am hammering for the Nexus.

Okay... just adding my two pennies into the whole mix for your all information. I am planing on switching my girlfriend from TMO to VZW when this phone comes out so i can get the nexus and she gets my Bionic. Was preparing to ensure i can do everything on key and no flaws... well i had flaws which spawn the conversation... i will cut out the boring long parts and keep it to a minimum, but below is the chat convo.

Stephen: The issue is though with that, is under that option when i go to order the Nexus and I want to convert my single line to a family share plan at that time i need to purchase two phones?

Stephen: I know the nexus is not available, which is why i am doing through with just another android device...

Misty: No when you go to order the Nexus it will then have 2 lines on account and it will show you the options for Family Share. You wouldn't need to order 2 phones.

Stephen: That is my issue there... right now if i go to order say a Droid Razr.. the only option it is showing me is the Nationwide Single Lines.

Misty: Are you signed into your my Verizon as the account owner?

Stephen: Yes. There is no one else with access to my account.

Misty: If you are currently logged in with your account and are selecting to add a new line with the Droid, it should be showing you the options for the Family Share. I will send you a link showing you the information on the Family SHare plans.

Stephen: okay... i am just going to have to call into the phone support... because no matter which way i do this it is still only showing me the single line phones.... I do not want to have to deal with the store to purchase this device when it becomes available. I have had to many issues with them.

Misty: That is fine, when you come online to order the phone you would want to sign in to your my Verizon and it will show you the Family Share plans when you add on the line.

Misty: Did the link with the information that I sent you work ok?

Stephen: YEs it did. It does allow me to predict my pricing acuratly

Misty: Great!

Misty: Do you have any other questions for me today?

Misty: Thank you for visiting Verizon Wireless; it’s been a pleasure chatting with you. Have a great day!

Stephen: You too. Have a good holiday

Misty: The phone comes out Friday. You will be fine placing your order.

Stephen: Thank you very much for your help!

Misty: If on Friday your not seeing the plans the way they should be just go ahead and open a new chat window and someone will be here to help!

Stephen: Is it going to be on preorder tomorrow do you know?

Misty: Your welcome! And I do not know, we were told this morning it would be Friday.

Misty: I hope that helps!

Stephen: Great thanks! It does help alot, everyone has been so silent about it. :)

Misty: Yes we found out this morning. You have a great day!
