The simple things your Nexus 6P just can't do right? or at all?

Been reading with interest, i am due a new phone in April, so would you guys recommend a Nexus 6P or try something different, i am currently using a Samsung Note Edge. Cheers

I find the Note Edge amazingly cool! All of Samsung's bells and whistles in one super phone!
Anyway, if you are due for an upgrade in April, why not wait to see what Samsung, LG and other manufacturers are bringing in and around MWC?

I will be but as you know, new phones cost a fortune! Samsung updates are always slow, how long as Android M been out now? Still haven't been updated, that is what is attracting me to the Nexus 6P, You get most updates a good 6 months ahead of time. Nexus 6P 64gb are not coming in cheap on contract with mobile companies.

Nexus Imprint was advertised as learning the prints with time. I don't really feel like it learned anything ... anyone else ?

It certainly hasn't gotten better over time for me, but it works extremely well compared to both my former S6 Edge+, and my work iPhone 6S Plus. I have absolutely no complaints about it.

I have zero problems with the fingerprint reader; my 6P opens each and every time I press my left index finger to the scanner, regardless of its position.

Perhaps you need to delete the current prints and re-train, paying careful attention to the prompts.

I'd really like to be able to turn on the display by double tapping, knocking, etc. on the screen. Basically, being able to use one finger, especially if I have my settings to let me unlock it in a pre-designated WiFi area or if I have an Android Wear device on. It's not always convenient to have to use the fingerprint scanner or press the power button.

Cannot argue with that. Use a Nexus 6P myself... for that very reason :)

Please tap About on the Google Now settings menu and see what version you are running.

Also, in system, Settings, Apps, Google Now app, what version does it say? Mine says "1.3 large".

Google now version is 5.8.57.19.arm64 on the about tab. In the app settings it says 1.3 large.

It is unlikely that this is a fault of the 6P or of Marshmallow. You almost certainly have one or more buggy/incompatible apps which are responsible.

I haven't seen a force-close for at least 1.5 years

I want to post an update about the auto rotate on home screen since it was discussed many times in this thread. I just got an update and it included the auto rotate feature. So hopefully in few days all will get this feature enabled

+1 I just got it too.

Hey guys I've been trying to google this and I would love to get back into Android but there's a few things that have been holding me back from taking the plunge. One thing I like on iOS is while playing music from the lock screen is seeing the album art and being able to control the music from the lock screen especially scrubbing the song. Is there anyway to do this from the lock screen on marshmallow?

Also is there any way to get the my Verizon app working on the 6P?

You might want to try something like Poweramp. I haven't used it in a while, but it did have all that functionality.

As for My Verizon... I doubt they want you being able to easily install it on an unlocked phone. That being said, you may be able to sideload it from somewhere like apkmirror.com or similar.

Yep. I can't screenshot the lock screen so I took a picture with the girlfriends phones. I have GPM playing there and as you can see the controls are there and the album art is in the background.

You can't scrub the song from the lock screen anymore with GPM. It used to have those controls but they were removed at some point in an update.
