The Verge is bashing the V30

I'm not knocking Bluetooth but I have to be honest I don't think airpods look cool. They look like earbuds that lost their wire. They also look like they are very easy to lose if they get bumped out of your ear. I would prefer them without the stem.

I have had them for almost a year now and not once did they fall out of my ears. The lack of the cable makes them stay better in your ears because there is no cable pulling them.
I have ran, biked, laid on a couch or bed and all sorts of situations, they are safe from falling out of my ears.

Re: The Verge is bashing the V30 for no headphone jack

I am not sure what you are trying to fight against here. The needle has been moved. Whether you like it or not, the companies have decided to move on. If you think the headphone jack is going to come back, well, good luck!

The headphone jack, be it small or big, that component is a hindrance to go complete wireless and that space in the design could be used for lots of different things in the internals. Before you say, its not used today. Yea, companies don't build products for today, they build products for tomorrow - in other words, they do know where they are heading.

If you want, you got choices. You are free to pick phones that have headphone jack.

Personally, I have been using bluetooth headsets for the past 4 years. I dislike wired headphones as it is PITA to manage the wires and the length.

So, yea, lets all move on. It shouldb't be about complaining rather finding the smartphone that matches your interest.

Wireless headphones are OK and all, but that isn't the V30's mantra. If you want excellent sounding music, you'll want the DAC and headphone jack. No other way around it this time and age.

Thank you LG.

Half of you can move on. The other half is sticking with S. Korean giants LG and Samsung (one of the most successful electronics companies in the world, Apple/Google wish they could be like them). Some people are FORCED to move on, kinda feel bad for them but it is what it is. Seems like American companies are moving on to technologically advanced Bluetooth while other international companies are sticking to wired + bluetooth. The more features, the merrier.

Companies are only following Apple to try to chase down profits. Apple ditches the 3.5mm because they charge huge royalties to make Lightning port cables. No money in headphone jacks. They want to own all the I/O and charge you for it.

Best case for OEMs is to disregard Apple and blaze your own trail.

Have had my v30 for 2 weeks now and am loving it. No issues with screen, lag, anything. It's Superfast, takes tremendous pics, and the high resolution audio is in a class by itself. It's also an ergonomic wonder. I hate wasting money. That's why I steer clear of the iPhone.

The jack is going to disappear on all the flagships soon enough unfortunately. Apple started it, and now that Google has done it on Android you will find the other manufs doing the same. Next year you will see another manuf drop it (and maybe leave it on one device in the line, ie. the G6 drops it but the V40 keeps it, etc). 3-4 years you will be hearing about the DACs build in to the headphones and not the phones.

That's as doubtful as 100% market of electric cars. It isn't sustainable to happen quite that soon if at all.

Actually Motorola killed the jack first on the Force models, then Apple. I believe HTC was third and now Google.
