There's a storm brewing...

I don't understand why they don't just give the TB a Xoom like release. Release it with 3G working then later have an update to 4G when it's working properly. That would quiet most of the masses waiting for this phone.
sending your phone in for a 6 day upgrade isnt ideal for those of us that use it daily

As I've already said, in the bigger picture, it's affecting a tiny amount of sales. The vast majority of Verizons customer base doesn't even know what the Thunderbolt is, and likely doesn't care.

The people who care are us enthusiasts and we're a tiny percentage in comparison. This "botched" release is likely having a minimal affect in terms of revenue to Verizon.

I can't wait to see them fail on there 11 million forecast.

EVO3D is looking sooo sexy right now, and I don't even know what it looks like yet :P

Note to Verizon: Just scrap this project and start over. It's obvious that you have dropped the ball on this release.

What he meant by a "XOOM like release" was with 4G deactivated until it was ready and they would push a system OTA to the phone to turn it on.

Not send it in.

Taking a look at their history, Verizon isn't exactly "great" at OTA's

true, but they do push OTA's that get sent to them, if your going by Sammy phones, LOL thats a given since they don't support any of there handsets via OTA in a timely manner.

I think we all should flood Verizon's facebook and Twitter feed with complaints

I've already started the madness with a chain retweet

That would have been my next point. You expect them to have an OTA immediately after activation to disable 4G, then another at some future point to re-enable it? They can't even plan a release, but you expect them to plan two major changes through OTA updates? ;)

Good point and great perspective. Sorry guys.....we ARE NOT the majority.:-[

Does anyone know what the penalty is for leaving Verizon early?

What happens after your contract is up? Do you go month to month...day to day?

seriously...anyone know?

No apparently the "followers" of Fruit are

It never fails, Rotten fruit can spread disease, and this has proven true for AT&T and Verizon as well as international carriers.

Sprint hopefully won't bite into that apple and also become infected.

Return and Service Termination

You may terminate service for any reason within 14 days of activation. If you purchased a wireless device at a promotional price at the time of activation, you must return it within the device return period to avoid being assessed an Early Termination Fee of $175, or $350 if you purchased an Advanced Device. You will remain responsible for your Activation Fee unless you terminate service within three days of activation. You will also be responsible for all applicable usage fees, prorated access charges, taxes, surcharges or other charges that accrued to your account through the termination date. If you paid a security deposit, it may take between 30 and 60 days to process the return of your security deposit. The charges for any service used on the account before the service termination date may be applied against your security deposit.

If you cancel your service after the 14-day period, but prior to the expiration of your minimum term, you will be responsible for all of the above-mentioned charges, including an Early Termination Fee.

If you return your merchandise, even by mistake, after the return period, you will not receive a refund and the merchandise you
returned will not be returned to you.

i've been more or less ignoring all the posts blaming apple, but then i had the thought, NO WAY would the iphone 5 release be handled this poorly. not a chance they'd hint towards a february release for that and then stay silent as the weeks passed with absolutely no official word. the guessing games are starting to get old :/ the 17th can't come soon enough

Seriously people? What's with the doom and gloom that this phone isn't going to be released or it isn't coming out until summer, etc.?

We have people who've used the device and have talked about how excellent it is. VZW did say Q1 for this phone and we're still in Q1... although a LOT more communication from them would be appreciated.

I still think this will be an amazing device and that it will land in our hot little hands sometime in March. Let's rein in the hyperbole a bit and try to have a tiny bit of patience.
