things you notice after installing leaked froyo for droid x

Overall, I like 2.2. The only nagging problem I have is that every now and then, the music player won't play my music. It complains that it doesn't know how to play the files. a reboot fixes this. Is there a way to manually rescan the SD card?

Have you run the App Eris market fix? If your rooted this will fix market issues.

I didn't root, so I won't be able to do this. I send this phone back to the manufacturer on a warranty issue in a couple days, so I will just hang tight.

Any time I try to capture video, found out over the weekend when I really wanted to capture some video, that it crashes.

I tried multiple settings and whatnot, no go. This sucks!

Might have to go back to 2.1u1. Anyone have any suggestions?

I updated to 2.2 and I'm also rooted. One thing I noticed is that I'm only able to assign Speed Dial umbers to 2 and 3. All the other slots won't assign the speed dial contact. It assigns it but doesn't save. Can anyone else try this and confirm?

Anyone else notice that the battery life shot up? after like 4 hours of playing with it yesterday, I was barely at 60%.. i mean I was browsing the web, opening and running apps, changing wallpapers..

Same here. Definately MUCH better battery life... best part is when the battery is orange (is that orange?), it's not dead 2 seconds later :)

What's crazy is if you run "Android System Information" it'll tell you the different clock speeds your phone can run at and how much % of the CPU cycle it sits on any given MHZ.

I loaded it up when I hit 60% battery life and found that doing light tasks, my CPU was hovering around 300MHZ for 80% of it's usage for that day.. I did the same with my Droid 1 and noticed that it was sitting about 50% of it's CPU usage at 125MHZ.

gotta love the cpu throttling of these phones..

I hope this isn't the final version that will OTA.
There are a lot of good things that others have posted but here are the bad that I have noticed so far:
Music player took a step backwards and doesn't support AAC as well as 2.1 did. Album art is gone, songs play out of order. MP3 albums seem unaffected.
Also music gets interrupted during certain UI interactions such as waking up the phone and unlocking the screen.
There is a longer gap between songs.
Color schemes are inconsistent, Phone dialer is green, calendar is now white while contacts and other android ui are still black. (seems unfinished)
New lock slider is choppy.
Flash causes web browser to become unresponsive sometimes, only way to recover is to use a task killer or reboot.
Still now way to set custom ringtones for unknown callers like in 1.5

yeah there a def a lot of little annoying bugs. If i had to guess i would say this is some development build, not the real thing. also judging by the linpack and quadrant scores, I do not believe JiT made its way into this build. I would imagine that in about a week we will see a higher build come out OTA

Yes as mentioned in another thread I got 30+ hours of light use over the weekend and was only down to 40%. Email, light browsing, text, and 6-8 hrs of music playback (it was on shuffle with little interaction).

Not sure if this was mentioned but holding down the home button now displays 8 last used apps instead of 6 before.

Composing a new email now brings up a selection of what email account you'd like to send from, if you have multiple email accounts setup.

I don't remember seeing this.

the only problem i notice is that in swype, when you just try to type the letter "a' it defaults to a word and you actually have to press "a" at the bottom of the list. My browser only hung up two times with heavy flash usage, once, it eventually loaded, and once I had to stop it. You really don't need a task killer because you can now kill tasks from the app manager. settings>applications>manage applications>running>app>force stop. I don't recall that being an option before. THe battery manager is much more detailed now. If that freezes, which it has for me once, you can go to the options and clear the cache, works like a charm.

regarding AAC: check out this article.

That's weird that your phone dialer is green? Mines the same as its always been.

If you have a task killer setup to automatically kill tasks, that could be creating a lot of your performance problems.

Weird Bugs after upgrade

1. Sometimes when Rebooting the phone it gets stuck at the Motorola M and I have to do a battery pull
2. Bluetooth seems more picky then normal, I used the Motorokr S9s and sometimes I have to turn them on and off a couple times before audio will play through them
3. When upgrading apps, a lot of times the install will fail and I'll have to go install it manually
4. When clicking on battery use in the battery manager I get a FC on settings

Can anyone confirm that they can add Speed Dial numbers to all 9 slots then try using them. On this build Speed dial umbers are not saving after slot 3.

Thanks for the link, makes me wonder if that is the reason. Anyhow I've already began converting my 'legacy' AAC library to MP3. Kinda sad, I'll keep the AAC and ALAC library in hopes of future support.
The dialer is only green during the call, but black while dialing. Weird.
I only use the task killer to manually kill problem apps.

If the official OTA doesn't fix the strange behavioral issues I'll do a wipe and start over.

I literally have none of those issues. How many times do you reboot? I reboot like never..unless my phones having problems.

I use BT every day with a BT headset and a Wii(playing ROMS).. no issues with connects/disconnects

Never had updating apps fail.. are you using WIFI?

when I click on the battery in the battery settings, it opens right now.. no FC. =/

Yes you could always force stop apps, How do so many people think this is a solution? This is a total pain in the *** do do when you want to close apps.

Bring back a kill widget!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
