things you notice after installing leaked froyo for droid x

Froyo and java script

What I don't like so far about Froyo and Flash is that the browser is god awful slow when you have Java Script checked. It has to be checked in order to use Flash.

Also, for some reason, if I don't have java script checked with Froyo, my Crackerry.com icon will not load....it will flash the opening screen and disappear. This only happens when Java is checked.

Flash is basically a waste of time for power users who want data content like news and such. Having Java loaded all the time makes my browser medicore.

Yea he just told me he edited the build.prop.. I also did this and came out with a 2189

Does flash only load automatically on googles browser? I use Dolphin HD and any flash content on a page i have to click the little down pointing green arrow to get it to load up. This normal or am i missing an option somewhere?

Whenever I click the battery icon to check in the Battery Manager, it force closes. And it's weird because it worked fine before but now it keeps FCing. I even rebooted the phone again and it still won't work.

Javascript has to be checked for flash to work. I always leave it unchecked because the browser is super fast without it.

I just tried to replicate that and it works fine for me. You might try going to settings > manage applications > all > battery manager > clear cache and and see if that helps.

Also, are you using a task manager?

Reading this forum makes me wanna install this so bad but I'm afraid of messing up my phone when I have to revert back to 2.1 when the official comes out. I'm un-rooted and want to stay that way.

I can't promise anything, but if you grab the right files before they're gone, going back to 2.1 isn't that hard.

I think I an just gonna just wait it out I've waited this long what's another week or two. Seems like we r close to an official based on this leak.

No, I'm not using a task killer but right before I saw your reply I went into the battery manager, cleared data and now it's working.

no not 2.2

You rooted 2.2 using one touch rooting?

I rooted my phone in 2.1 , was asking if i were going to be able to recieve the 2.2 udate OTA , i havent changed anything in my phone, other that 2 new apps for root users

OK so I am having a little bit of an issue. For whatever reason on 2.2 while in calls, people can only hear me if im using speaker phone. Other wise im inaudible.

an ideas?

edit:Never mind i did a factory reset and im good now as far as calling... of course my Backup pro won't reinstall my apps and somehow the apps i had 2 droids ago started installing themselves (odd).

Droid X froyo. ActiveSync issues

Since going to 2.2, i noticed with my ActiveSync account, I receive the email headers but no message body. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

One thing that I noticed on 2.2 was that video playback of a video that I shot with the phone was real choppy. I didn't know if this was the phone or 2.2 because I didn't shoot any video's when I had 2.1 on it. Now that I went back to 2.1 the video plays back very smooth with no stuttering on playback.

2.2 had some good stuff but 2.1 is more stable right now IMO. 2.2 seems very close to being finished though.

I've been using it all weekend, and I have to say that I like this update.

I still can't find castle crush in the Marketplace, and the lack-of-speed-increase I think we all expected is still in question, but I haven't had a self-reboot all weekend long. the camera occasionally cannot seem to save the image properly, and the Gallery isn't able to view the media (video as well as still images).

I had some crashes when attempting to review the battery usage... and the update certainly seems to have fixed my issue with the 3g failing to connect.

I will be going back to 2.1 and awaiting the official release tho. What's a guy to do?

Did you modify the build.prop? Some ppl have been modifying it to get the artificially high quadrant scores (quadrant over values the CPU changes that appear with the modded build.prop). This change in the build.prop messes with the ability to playback videos recorded on the X. But for those willing to sacrifice that, if you modify the build.prop, you will be able to see all the apps on the market on the X with 2.2 (without the modified build.prop some apps don't appear bc the X2.2 doesn't officially exist yet)

had issues making calls, i couldn't hear anything on my end but the call connected.
battery pull seems to fix. if it keeps happening i'll roll back and wait for the official.
phone seems a bit more stable but not that much quicker.

Issue with GTalk

I've been having issues with GTalk and the battery meter on 2.2 - GTalk loads, then dissapears, never to be seen again (but still running in the backgroud)

the Battery meater will work when I clear the cache, but then fail minutes later

Have you run the App Eris market fix? If your rooted this will fix market issues.
