Third party texting apps - issue

What texting app are you guys using? Stock? Third party?

I've only had luck sending picture messages with the stock app, as all the third party apps will inevitably tell me the file size is too large (with no limit enabled). Seems odd.

Not sure if that's an app, phone, or carrier issue but would like to know other people's thoughts on this.

Thanks everyone

I use the Verizon Message+ app on my Droid Turbo. It is pretty reliable with many features. Plus it allows me to sync my messages to my iPhone and tablet. Similar to the Google Voice app.

I've used textra since I got the phone. Haven't had an issue at all and really like it's customization options

Textra was actually the app that kept telling me a picture message was too large. What is your setting on for MMS size limit?

Cool. Can you hide message details using the Verizon messages app?

I use the Google Messenger texting app, or sometimes the stock app. I like both pretty well and have had no issues with pictures.

I've never not had a pic go through unless it was due to bad reception

Interesting, maybe enabling at no limit MMS send size is a bad thing for some reason. Thanks for your reply. I'm gona try it out and see what happens.

Textra has always worked flawlessly for me. Never had any issues sending pics via MMS. Like doogald said, I have my file size limit set to 1MB.

Hangouts for me since release. Always reliable and I have tried them all.

I think Textra resizes regular pictures for MMS with no problems, but it can't resize/send .gifs that are larger than 1mb, which is kind of a bummer.

I set textra MMS limit to 1mb and it's working good now. Thanks for everyone's input
