I don't think VZ is gonna just lay down to apple. I think what they are doing is giving apple a taste of how big this partnership could be meanwhile releasing some awesome android phones. So when apple tries to give all these rules to VZ, VZ can say no. And if apple says fine were going back to at&t, VZ can say go ahead, you need us more than we need you.

This is why I'm actually excited about the partnership because Verizon is the one company that can basically tell Apple to shove off if...

a) Apple continues to lag behind in technology and jerks around their (Verizon's) customers simply because they have that Apple on their devices

and

b) Apple tries to dictate to Verizon what their policy is going to be on the iPhone and/or the terms and conditions of them carrying the iPhone.

Now of course there has to be some give from both parties, but it's clear that Apple is the one that needs to give moreso than Verizon now that history has played it's course.

@webdevanalyst not to mention. VZ spent the past few years competing with apple, im sure they know the flaws of apple products and will work to get them addressed if apple wants to stay with big red.

actually they both didn't agree with each other...

Verizon wanted the following:

-Their logo on it
-Their software (vcast, get it now, etc.) dont forget at the time there was no app store

Apple wanted:

-Monthly revenue profit sharing

I know there is more but this is all I can remember off the top of my head

Verizon doesn't seem to mind heeding their every word now. If the rumors of the Tbolt being pushed back for the iPhone launch are true, they delayed selling their first LTE smartphone for a phone that everyone's seen and used for the last year

I tend to think this isn't their fault though. They can only pass on what they're given or able to say so in all fairness - it may be a fact that you can't believe them but it's not their fault. They're only protecting their jobs by following the rules.

I agree, I never blamed any of them for not knowing anything. I also never harassed them either. I feel bad for some members here. Their lives must really suck to harass a chat rep or any rep because they are mad about a phone that never got released on the date that was completely made up in their head. Wow! Really? You people should get out more. No date was ever announced and too many people try to hold them to something they know nothing about. Nothing matters until it is available for preorder, sale or the date is on the official VZW news page.

i talked to another verizon rep in a store today at a different mall (my gf is a shopping addict lol)

they are pretty much doing "soft" pre-orders for people that ask

I left him my name and number he said he would hold 2 for me, so now i got 2 different reps at 2 different stores that promised to hold 2 tbolts for me..

he also showed me the dummy unit and some of the promo material they got
it wasn't anything special tho...

If that's true, i will be returning the TB. 750 bucks plus extra for a 4G package. Ive found ways to stick up for VZ before but they can go screw themselves for that one lol. But i doubt it's true so i won't be troubling myself about it right now.

Yeah, I don't see how Verizon would charge a 4G data charge when the range of their 4G service is pretty limited (even in their 4G markets).

i doubt this is true. what would be the point of advertising 4g phone, then its not a 4g phone until u buy a sim....if anything thru this wait for the phone. we should know by know reps have no idea about anything.

Yup. VZW can choke on the Thunderbolt if they expect me to pay 250-330 for a subsidized phone and it to have only 3G at launch then want me to pay another 10-20 a month for 4G.
