Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Oh sorry, it wasn't directed at you, it was directed at him. What I see is a lot of nonsense that does not fit with anything we know. HTC has already said the phone is ready and will be shipped. We know the hardware works fine with the network because the chipset is already being used. There are NO reasons that any of these supposed insiders have given that fit with the reality of the situation.

And another thing; if this is true, why have none of the legitimate tech sites reported this? Engadget and Gizmodo have posted none of this. If it was true, they would have. Here's why: they already have the phone to review and know when its going to be released. They know that none of this blathering by supposed 'insiders' is true.

blackmanx knows the situation but I never saw him state it was a network issue as the other posted stated unless I missed something. I saw him state he cant reveal the problem but its being addressed. And for Engadget or Gizmodo, they just doesnt have what the actual info is to report.

So some no-name assclown has information, but the biggest tech sites on the planet don't? Yeah, not buying that.

that is a very good possibility, and this phone is definitely coming soon or we wouldn't be seeing all the new advertising everywhere

Haha, ok. We're straight ;)

That's why we speculate it's a Verizon issue. Yes he didn't explicitly say it, but he is certainly, to re-use my word earlier, "hinting" that it's a Verizon problem. And especially given the fact that HTC themselves said they are shipping the phones and we have seen screenshots from Verizon managers leaking invoices showing a 23rd stock date, and with ads popping up constantly all over the place, we can only assume that it's something unrelated to the hardware at this point

blackmanx also said it's "supposed" to still drop on the 24th. My thinking is they are planning on it and shipping the devices as if the 24th is the launch date, and then hoping they have fixed the issue by then. But they don't want to promise anything yet (just in case!) which is why they are so tightlipped about a release right now

Of course we're only speculating here... but then again, virtually EVERYTHING on this forum the last week is pure speculation

What if Verizon decided at the last minute to change the plans, or something completely unrelated to the hardware? Its happened before with other carriers, so I don't think its inconceivable that they might have wanted to change something at the last minute.

Just saw this post in android forums, could this be true? TBolt with 3G and then VZ will release 4G in Summer and charges more for it?

face palm

4g is already up an running in cities. were you live might not be 4g yet.
check the 4g cities list, also has a coming soon list.
it would super stupid to launch a 4g phone before the network is up

Htc thunderbolt release date confirmed by bgr

As you may already know, the release date for the HTC ThunderBolt that?s been spreading around the streets like a fine butter has last been reported as February 24th, 2011. Now, our good pal Jonathan S Geller of Boy Genius Report (BGR) has also confirmed that date, so we can basically etch that in stone. BGR never lies, ever. Their source has locked down the release date for the HTC ThunderBolt to February 24th, and that?s both at Best Buy and Verizon Wireless.

A release 6 days from now with no announcement from VZW? Isn't that unprecedented? Someone posted a chart a few days ago showing that Verizon always announces 7 or 10 days in advance of the on-sale date (I think the iPhone might have had an even longer lead time).

well he has to be blowing smoke up your *** cuz bmx tweets about using lte on the bolt all the time

It's so ironic.

I'm sitting here, reading these forums about the Thunderbolt, and what do I see? I Thunderbolt ad on TV.

I really do hope the 24th is the release date because I'm getting way to anxious waiting for this phone.

I kinda don't always trust what bgr says. Ever since he "broke the story" that Blackberry OS 6 was going to drop on a certain date in verizon. The source he used was photo-shopped. So yea lol

Both the Android Community and BGR articles are from 2/10. So this is old news and a lot could have changed since then.

at the risk of being a moron (which isnt all that unusual for me, just ask my wife), i know it was reported that this was to be a best buy exclusive. so, i went ahead and informed my local verizon rep, who has been AWESOME over the years, that i was going to have to get it at BB. but i have seen it questioned here that this may or may not be true. if i CAN get it at my local store, from MY rep, i want to cancel the preorder and get it from her. regardless, i AM excited that it appears, APPEARS, to be coming next week. does anyone have any rock solid info on locations of release? well, as rock solid as we can get with this particular release

You sure you and I remember the same chart? I seem to remember the Droid 2 being announced a day before release, which was his point.
