Kind of old news, droid-life is pretty much a source from source blog site. Again, VZ hasn't made an announcement and BB is not a 'source' for truth so knowing that, nobody knows nothing other than what VZ has mentioned already... nothing. The same math goes for the hTC guy saying they're shipping or whatever. I was just in BB to get a Blu-Ray player & the only thing mentioned in the cell area was a small TBolt sign with a 'Coming Soon' next to it. That was it, there was prob 3 of the signs scattered throughout. Other than that it was business as usual. I don't see this thing coming out till the end of the month. I'd be careful reading blogger sites, you're all better off having VZ on facebook and twitter for an official announcement.

my first post here as well. I had the storm 1 for over a year and then updraded to the storm 2 which I've had for over a year and I am still currently using. I can't wait for my first Android phone!!!

The guy was the CEO of HTC. I'd like to think he knows what's going on. I know that doesn't give us a release date, but if they're getting them this week, it's on Verizon for anymore delays.

Don't forget, LTE isn't lit up all over the country yet. Verizon might not want to tout a feature that's not available to everyone now. The arguement that the main feature about this phone that makes it compelling is that it's an LTE phone; let alone the other specs.

The 24th may be the "launch date" to announce the phone, but I'm really doubting its in our hands on the 24th. I called the best buys in my just now (Omaha, Neb.) saying, can I come get my pre-order filled since the ad has the TBolt in it.

Nope they said. We are thinking you can come in the 28th.

Someone already posted that the DX was announced on the 10th and released on 11th. While it wasn't a necessarily a network first like this one it's very likely they will wait to announce until the day before

There are a zillion theories out there in regards to why specific release info is so quiet, all of which may be possible to an extent, but you would think they would make quite a bit of noise about this before launching it - and a couple of web advertisements, a single ambiguous TV spot with a girl counting seconds before a thunder blast, and a couple of heavily inaccurate Best Buy ads doesn't seem like a boisterous LTE launch to me

Eh. LTE still isn't widespread yet, so it'd be reasonable for them to keep a lid on it.

That is exactly what I seen last night in their system and I reported it on here and even gave the new date for the release and nobody believed me. Maybe they will now!!!

My impression from all the rumors is that things just aren't going as planned. I don't know if it's an HTC production problem, a Verizon network problem, Verizon not selling as many iPhones as expected on launch day (the 14-day-time-window theory), or some technical glitch with Skype Mobile, but something has not gone smoothly.

I think it's perfectly possible that no one knows for sure when this phone is going to launch (not even the CEOs of Verizon and HTC). As soon as the launch date is known with 99.9% certainty by the powers that be, there will be an official announcement. If that clarity doesn't come until the day before launch day, then the announcement will be one day before launch. I don't think they would purposely delay selling the phone just so they can have 7 days to "prepare the public".

I say, start selling the phone as soon as you possibly can while doing enough testing and Q/A to make sure the phone works as advertised. So what if it takes marketing a few extra days to get a large volume of people into stores? Sales may ramp up a little more gradually, but they will ultimately sell more phones by starting earlier.

Alright, so with the Best Buy fiasco, and just uneasiness about the date, I have a question. I bought a VZW iPhone 4 on the 11th, with the intention of going back to iOS. I miss Android too much, however. I was expecting the Bolt to have been on sale by the 25th, which is the last day of my return period.

So here's my question: Do you think the reps at the VZW store would cut me ANY Slack at all if the phone comes out on the 28th? I was thinking of going in sometime this week and talking to them about it. I would love to stay with VZW because their coverage is so much better, but I want an Android phone, and I don't want any of the ones they currently have.

If they can't do anything, I'll just sell my iPhone on ebay and purchase the Bolt outright, but I'm hoping they will.

just called my best buy in tucson AZ. its been delayed to feb. 24th. its the 24th for me! at least the buy back program will still be in effect for free

No, what you said is that it was delayed until the 28th. This correction gives no date, and in fact leaves a lot of room for a 24th launch.
