Actually yeah, I ran in to that same thing. The one I called first is close to where I work, and they will preorder it. I then called the one closer to my house and they don't have it. It's 2 stores in the same county, both with different answers. The guy at the 2nd one said that I'm the first one to even ask about the preorder though, so I'm just going to wander in tomorrow before work and put my money down.

I have chatted with BB twice and called their 888 # once. My results, 2/12, No info yet and 2/16. I am addicted and can't stop. I feel bad for these people who really don't know anything. Frustrating me. I hope VZW announces tomorrow. I hate to put my $$ down @ BB if it is goign to be a while.

Asking the vzw rep at our store today (guy had the dx and was also excited about bolt) the rep said yes to same day release as BB and really hinted without giving any real solid answers about the release being very soon, just after iphone release and he correctly said the preordered iphones would be in hands by the 8th...we have one scheduled for delivery monday before 10... sooo yeah it's still whatever but his suggestion was that HTC/VZW would make a good move to have these tbolts on hand when those who come in for a sold out iphone can be pointed to the new lte phone.... hmmm kinda make sense in that light. He kept mounthing things that I didn't catch but seemed to be saying, yeah very soon.... however could just be selling things up because we were interested.
Just left Best Buy they would not let me pre order today. I did see with my own 2 eyes that it was going to be $249.99 with a two year upgrade. So I guess I will be going out tomorrow which is no big deal because I am at Best Buy every other day anyway.

Here we go again....but i just called my local Best Buy in Mission viejo CA...you call yourself.....and the mobile dept. said presale tomorrow for $50 and available on the 14th...he put me on hold fpor a few min. and verified.....i didnt do any coaching or questioning. Take it for what its worth....

Has anyone found the chat button at all since last post? It still doesn't appear for me! Maybe they really did catch on. Or they expect iPhone issues that they don't want to deal with... 
if you go to the smartphone page, go to get started shopping assistant. if it doesn't show up, click find phone and click the link to go back to the smartphone page and keep repeating until it shows up.
I did this for about 15-20 mins giving a minute or two in between attempts. So it is there for some, I'm just not seeing it on my end?
I agree with you. I still believe that will be the case, but I am just saying what i heard.
nice, I really wish I could actually get a hold of an actual demo phone though to see how it works and feels in my hands.

I just called Verizon customer service. Pointed out that Best Buy had started accepting preorders per their newspaper ad and web site but that I preferred to order through Verizon and asked when I could do so. The rep just said he had no information about preorders for the ThunderBolt.
So while I'd be shocked if they both didn't have it on launch day, perhaps only Best Buy is doing preorders.

Not that this means ANYTHING at all, but the HTC page has said "Register for news at Verzion" or something to that effect since day one. It now says "Get the latest on Thunderbolt"
EDIT: I am also getting a "Page is not currently available" error on Verizon's website when I choose "Upgrade Device" Coincidence? Hmm...
