Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

Certainley possible. Lately I have been confused by less. However I am pretty sure she knows. She specifically told me they had a meeting on the Thunderbolt and that she said it would be out in February sometime. She said it as if I should be excited.

Anyway, It is entirely possible with as many calls as they may be getting that she lapsed into Apple mode for a minute

I wonder if enough people call VZW and ***** out the reps who answer for having no knowledge to share on the TB pricing, 4G pricing, availability, etc. will encourage the big red to come forth with SOMETHING? The fact that they act like their not even aware of the BB ad for pre-ordering and they have nothing, NOT ONE SPEC of info to offer its long awaiting customers (when i-phone info was available almost right out the gate), is a complete joke! Why the secrecy? WTF?!? Its as if they are waiting until the very last night before launch to give us the info. God, I hate the fact that their network is so good, cause Verizon makes me effn sick to my stomach!

Cursing out customer service isn't going to do anything. VZW doesn't want to put a date out that it can't meet or puts it's operations at risk. So, rather than release a date and potentially miss it.. they'd rather wait until they feel comfortable and then publish a date. While the latter will irritate some people (myself included), it is definitely a lot better than missing a date and the HATE that we would reign down on them.

I understand if they don't want to commit to a date. No problem. But at least give us facts about the phone to keep us excited.

The TB ad did get me pumped up again though! And it had NO useful info.

The 50$ data rate on dongles is fair since verizon expects them to use it exclusively for data. With a phone you get screwed and pay ALOT more for voice/text/data which will counter the high data fee since they make the money back via minutes and texting. I mean phone calls from verizon to verizon w/ texting would cost them like 5$ a month if you used 1000min so yeah they go easy on the data pricing seeing as the "unlimited" is 5gb and we are most likely being throttled at what 60-100kb?

Well, not scream and yell at the reps (because we all know how far that will get you), but show discontent at the very least. I get what you are saying about not wanting to put a date out there and then not be able to meet it, but they should have SOME info aside from the release date. It just really erks me that future i-phone customers seems to get "preferred treatment". Yes, the US market has been waiting forever for the i-crap to come to verizon, but FFS, what about the rest of us?

well we no the bionic has some serious power under the hood, but its optimizing it that will take advantage. if the bionic wasnt so damn ugly an locked down id make it an option. an we know the bionic will get tons of marketing. i think that is what the thunderbolt needed. the droid branding. then verizon could have put them head to head. sure iphone would have won due to brainless sheep. but tbolt would have turned some heads an sales reps could compare the two for cust that have no sense. 2cents.

This looks cheap. Not to mention the camera lens is smaller. It may be 8mp but a smaller lens makes it worse. The TB has 8mp but a large lens which will lead to some great shots.

I talked to a VZW phone sales geek today who knew nothing and asked if I would like to speak to a CSR so I said sure. The CSR claimed to know nothing but when asked if she had ever seen a retailer like BB release a phone that VSW did not sell at the same time she stated no. When asked if VSW would be releasing it on the 14th she said to continue to check their website daily and added, content will change on Thursday. So I really got nothing but a tease to watch the website.

you know its sad that csr's an reps only go with info on the same website we see. i work for a cable company an i know about features well before they are launched. so do our csr's as they start to slip info sometimes on new cable boxes with more storage. i dont no if other carriers do things like this but...i want the person thats selling me my device giving as much info i can get on what im buying

i usually dont like this kinda stuff, but i talked to a rep today and he said he had a meeting last week on new phones coming out. didnt say much about the tbolt though. said the phone isnt pulled in the system and that they usually do that a week before its released.

Just chatted with a Bust Buy rep regarding whether Verizon and Best Buy will sell this phone or only Best Buy. Hopefully she just doesn't know what she is talking about and Verizon will also be selling it.

All the VZW reps I have talked to have said they would have it, they just didnt know when.

OK..if you made it this far in this thread....I may have to eat my words but I am now changing my tune and now saying the 14th...THIS IS WHY...
First Verizon:
Verizon's 10 Days of Sweet deals is ending on February 9...to coincide with the hard launch of the iphone.

They will sell as much of the older phones as they can with their "sweet" deals and then get moving on the iphone...I would say anytime after the February 9th they are going to double advertise iphone and the bolt...a sort of "we have got it all" type of ad. The Verizon people are not stupid....even though we sometimes think they are.

But why not wait? Because if they wait too long then people like me (contract is up and I have been hanging around) will be ready for the other big announcement that is going to occur on the 13th.

So now I am thinking this has all been planned out...I even think they did the bolt training prior to this because they knew that with the clearance and the iphone they would not get it in during this time period.

As long as we get what we want(Tbolt 2/14) and VZW gets what they want(Money) we will all be happy as can be.
