I am not saying they will do it this time, but they have done it. They did that to Fascinate (and other phones too I guess, Droid 2 was also dropped without much fanfare). And like Thunderbolt, a lot of people of getting very antsy about Fascinate (that time it was due to the fact that all other national carriers had already launched their Samsung Galaxy S phones).

The line is already at the front door but it's locked. VZ could announce it tomorrow or Wed and still sell on the 3rd. The issue (all what we don't know) is if they are running behind their deadline of what they had in mind (which we don't know) as an official launch date. Like any other project in IT or Web app launches, etc... when you're past your deadline you get everything working as it should and you get it out there as fast as possible. Phones are 90% of the time release on Thursdays... like music is released on Tuesday's. So if they had problems and they're fixed, I wouldn't be surprised if it was in stores this week for sale. The marketing aspect has already been on tv and the net for weeks now.
 
So tonight I watched a show I had taped last week and ta-da! the TB commercial was on twice. What a tease! I'm gonna keep the show just so I can watch the commercials over and over....sigh...


Oh nooooo! I accidentally deleted it! Agh!

The main thing it shows to me is that VZ was, in fact, trying to get this phone out on the 14th. Best buy didn't just pull that date out of thin air as some have implied.

Okay, damn I missed out that Skype calling wouldn't be on the TB anymore. Hopefully we will get an announcement tomorrow on a Thursday release.

Maybe, but I can't stop myself. I'm too excited. I sold my Original Moto Droid and am borrowing a co workers Fascinate (I hate borrowing something so expensive). And for goodness sakes I want my own phone and my Thunderbolt! :p
