So my buddy that works at a Verizon store has told me they received posters advertising the Thunderbolt with a March 11 release date. Take that as you will, but I find it pretty solid evidence and we will probably hear something from Verizon within the next week.

Just talked to a friend who is Team Lead at Verizon here and she told me as of today they have no date and no information, but soon as she hears from email or new phone packs they give out for information on the phone I will be the first to know. Obviously this is first place I will be posting sorry that doesn't make anyone feel any warm and fuzy while we continue to wait.

Shes not phone Customer Service she is Team Lead of Regional Trainers in this area, but yes there is always someone first to know. Just saying they are keeping it pretty tight wraps until they annouce it "officially".

We have always known sooner. First we knew about 2/14, then 2/24, and 2/28 ... and we still know about 3/3, 3/4, 3/10

If he really is your buddy he will use his phone and take a picture of it and send it along to you..........which you will post here. Otherwise, he is not your friend, you will not buy your phone at his store and he will no longer be invited to play halo with you online.

so what's the consensus here, will VZW be doing a pre-order for this phone? I hope so. There's no way I'm getting up early and standing in line for anything, much less a phone.

I don't think there will be a line. When the much-awaited Samsung Fascinate was released, I hurried to the store in the morning of the launch date and there was noone else asking for the phone there. This is not an iPhone which gets a new release like once every year or two. We get a new High-End android device every few months and there are lots of other options available. So I don't expect a line - unless the entire AC community goes to buy from the same store.
