Thunderbolt Pre Announcement Waiting Room & Availability Thread.

I'm not sure I've given up hope on the phone yet, but I'm getting close. I do agree with you though that they seemed to have dropped the ball.

Im close to..but I'm starting to get the feeling vzw didn't drop the ball so much as they are trying to shove said ball up our A*$

The biggest problem I have is that one forum says HTC sent the phones to Verizon months ago while the next one say it wont be out until April or that an announcement will be made "tmr". The is such a huge difference in what ppl say they know about the phone.

It looks to me, after all this time, that probably what happened was that VZW/HTC found an issue with the phone which prevented its rollout on Feb 14th. It seems pretty routine to me that it would take a month to get that straight before eventual rollout. I mean, first they had meetings to determine the state of affairs. Then meetings to determine the plan of attack. Then meetings where they "quibbled" about the plan of action. Maybe shipping back/forth comes in here, maybe not. Then, finally, the techs were given direction on how to proceed. the Techs fix it. Then, the techs put it out for test and someone reports something isn't right (even if they are wrong!) and then it gets re-checked by techs. Then retested by testers. Then shipped, then sold. Phew! And all this could have happened even if the "fix" was relatively straight forward. What if it weren't?

Anyway, if they make a March 10th rollout I'd have to give 'em a gold star, considering everything. One thing I feel certain of is that virtually no one is purposely delaying this launch. I think everyone wants it to happen ASAP.

I agree completely. They want to take our money for the phone/contract just as badly as everyone wants to give them their money. When issues arrive they "have" to address them if it's widespread. We will get the phone but VZW should at the minimum address the situation because "your perception is your reality" and the perception that something is wrong is the reality of lots of buyers.

See I would "give 'em a gold star" as well IF they where sharing what was going on! they have left us in the dark about what is happening leaving us to assume the worse case.... or In some cases the most greedy case (Teried data roll out/Veriphone lunch ect) If they would have just kept us in the loop a little we would not be here feeling th way we do about this Launch.

March 10th would be good for me too. But I think they would have to announce it at least a week in advance?

Sometimes they don't. I remember they announced Samsung Fascinate just two days prior to the launch. Actually they launched the online sale just one day after the announcement and in-store launch the following day.

As I was informed would happen last night, the #Thunderbolt began shipping to Verizon stores at 9:00 AM this morning.

Of course, I can't guarantee there is any truth to it or not... just thought I would share.

I agree Frank, but, this has gone on too long. There are rumors flying all over the place, we have a couple of inside leakers (second one is BMX NOT jerryyyy) but their information is liable to change at any time so we never know if what they tell us is really going to take place or not. We are at the point where we need for Verizon to tell us something.

Right now our main source of information is Ben5 and he has made it clear that anything he tells us is subject to change at any time without him knowing it. That is not his fault so I'm not placing any blame on him. But as far as Verizon is concerned, they need to get their bloody act in gear and start putting out some real and reliable information.

In fact, the launch of this phone has already been botched up so much (thanks to Best Buy) and the public outcry (online chatter at least) has been so much that, I think there is a possibility they will go for a quick launch shortly after the announcement.

YAYY!!! More fuel to the fire!! At least it keeps our hopes alive. Let's give him credit for that.

Although I would like to agree with you because I'm also obsessed with this phone :) I think the way Verizon managers would feel about this is that the way to get their act in gear would be to stop the misinformation (leaks) by whatever means necessary rather than putting out official information before they were ready. From my management experience, that's how I'd feel. I'm not recommending this, just sayin'...!

That dude also claimed 11am presser that never happened. He's a college kid from upstate NY. I honestly think he's jacking with everyone who buys into it.
