Tired of Waiting

Like it or not, Verizon is the biggest game in town. Samsung is probably miffed right now, but they'll be back with their next device. Actually, the way this is going, their next device will probably be released before this one.

Google achieved what they sought out to do for 3rd Nexus device. I doubt Samsung gives a turd. Their role was oem, they met their contractual criteria. It's a sold product to them, regardless of Verizons plans on the release. They get paid no matter what happens once it's in the hands of Verizon.

Recent update to android version 4.0.2, an applicable update which I read was only to Verizons SCH-I515. I'm fairly certain you know what rumor this likely addresses. It's not something Verizon would ever fess up, pre release, about one of their apps. but I think it's transparent enough to be indicative that not everything needs to come out of their mouths to make the case.
In order for the phone to be "delayed", there would have to be an official release date given. Last I checked, VZW, Google, and Samsung are all private companies. They generally do not make public their development processes, or for that matter their vetting process.

You are absolutely positive that the Galaxy Nexus 4LTE device hasn't had any problems working with the Verizon network?

Those black Friday ads show that Verizon clearly meant to have the phone out by now

That may well be. It also doesn't change the fact that VZW, never gave a specific date. They have claimed by the end of the year. None of us really know what is preventing VZW from releasing the phone now.

Well I took the plunge and ordered the one from overseas. I'm not going to leave VZW until I try the phone out on T-mobile with a pre-paid account. By the time I get it the Verizon version may be released and, I can make the decision then.

Came to android platform from a background of programming and generally wanting a more open OS than the IPhone 4 I was using. After nearly one year and using a Moto Droid X, X2 and Thunderbolt (Rooted and ROM'd with CM, and BAMF) and desperately wanting to get a Verizon Galaxy Nexus I am going back to the Apple 4S. Obviously everyone's reasons for what system they will use are their own but I have grown weary of the TOTAL lack of consistency with releases, updates and what I perceive to be a real lack of support for many of the devices in the android universe. It's been fun but looking forward to being back in a system where consistency and keeping your word is important.

I say this with all due respect: You are the ideal candidate for an iPhone.

Verizon Black Friday ads?

An ad popped up Thanksgiving night with the Galaxy Nexus, along with some other devices, featuring their "Holiday Deals" for the upcoming week of sales.

It resulted in a lot of calls being made to Verizon with the hopes of buying/pre-ordering the GN. And yes, I realize you are going to say it didn't specify that this deal pertained to Black Friday sales and disregard the fact that it was run on Thursday night.

Ah, I didn't see that one and you are right about what I was going to say, lol.

Is there any possibility that VZW won't even offer this phone? I'm starting to get a little nervous. The last time a Nexus phone was on VZW's horizon was the Nexus One. And we all know how that panned out...

No, in order to fit your interpretation of a delay, it needed to have an announced date on record. Verizon has never worked that way, which is why they've been fond of unspoken release dates and the oft used "dates subject to change". If you're gonna use this argument at least be consistent. You've spouted your own opinion on how you interpreted an VzW employees response, based on your own speculative rationale in another thread.

No, I'm not but you must be with this reaponse. Got a link that states otherwise?

Actually I'm not. Nor have I claimed to be either. There is a simple fact you as well as others are overlooking. You do not know why the phone has not been released. It can be just about anything.

The VZW phone is not the same thing as the one released in the UK.

LOL, not really. Unlike your interpretation, mine is based off of fact. Yours is based off of rumors posted in forums like this.

No chance...this is not a Nexus 1/DInc scenario - Verizon has already ordered hundreds of thousands of CDMA/LTE units. It's definitely coming, it's just a matter of when.

Those ads are made up up 2-4 weeks out. Vzw may have had a thinking releasing but there must b a nasty bug.
