Today is the 18th. WHERE'S MY FROYO!!!

not a word on Froyo...frustrating

All these new phones and updates galore popping out and not a word about Dinc getting official Froyo. The DInc used to be nearly VZW flagship, now it seems we're swept under the rug. What the heck!!!!!

Wait like everyone else. If you are so impatient and really want to pull all the power from your phone do like me and many many others have done, root it and enjoy Froyo goodness. Been using a full fledged Froyo for almost 2 weeks now. Very nice.....

I know...I know...
I guess I'm gonna have to go for it then. Ok Qazme, in your opinion, who has the best tutorial and which is the best version to load? Also, when the OTA does come thru, is it fairly easy to revert back to that?

I refuse to root, don't know why.
I also think we are getting lip service and won't see froyo at all..Yeah I am being optimistic LOL

I agree

Sorry but I have to agree with Yomonk and Tony on this. There are a lot of people that want to root for this reason alone. I personally would wait for the official update myself. I want Froyo as much as anyone else does. I agree with Yomonk on this. I to want it bad and hate the fact that all these other phones are getting it and the DINC owners are still waiting. I waited a month and a half for my DINC and you would think that after all of us had to wait to get these phones they would throw us a bone and get froyo out to all of us. Its just disapointing thats all. I have nothing against the people rooting there phones or recommending other people to do it, its just my personal feeling on it is to wait for the official update.

froyo roms have bugs..every one..i have tried them all. Be prepared to constantly mess with your phone if you load a froyo rom.

No bugs for me yet on Skyraider 2.2 (knocking on wood) with latest radio.

Having just procured my Incredible earlier this week, I'm still getting my bearings in 2.1 although the OS is so intuitive my learning curve is rapid.

Although it was only for a few months until X launched, the Incredible was VZWs flagship device. I think before long we'll either see the update OR an official communication from VZW.

Bear in mind in situations like this, if in February they say "It's coming in August" and then in April they restate their timeline, typically a restatement with that type of lead time is measured in months, since that typically means that very early on it was abundantly clear they will get no where near their target date.

However, if in February they say "It's coming in August" and then mid August they revised their timeline, typically a restatement with that short of lead time is measured in days or (at the worst) a week or two, since they must have been tracking along their critical path until the absolute very end where one or two small issue threw a wrench in things.

That's been my experience anyway. Since we haven't heard a clarifying statement from VZW I'm still optimistic that it will drop any day now.

I really hope it drops but Verizon is so stupid with their OS updates for all devices not just Android. They were slow when I was using a BlackBerry also.

Verizon BlackBerry updates aren't slow, they are non-existent.

the 8/1 leak with the latest radio is pretty much bug free. It's a little heavy on battery use compared to previous roms, but i'm still able to get to about 26 hours between charges.

On every single one? How many bugs did you have before you started flashing? I found a few that were buggy before the leaked froyo was released but since then I have been using the Skyraider 2.2 and the only thing I had issues with was audio streaming. I can live with that for now. Once I get my speaker problem fixed and I reroot I will surly be going back to that one.

I'm using skyraider 2.5 vanilla and it's excellent. I also used unrevoked forever and upgraded to the 2.15 radio, signal display problems are gone, along with the gps problems. I also put the hydra undervolted stock speed kernel, no bugs with anything whatsoever.

Wait for HTC doesn't help HTC

I got my Dinc on launch day.
Shortly after, I started to worry about HTC and updates.
With Froyo, Motorola seems to be getting the new OS out. Nothing from HTC. Whether it's HTC or Verizon I don't know. All I do know is I don't have it.

If it really takes many more months, My next phone will probably be a Motorola due to the increased likely hood of getting Android 3.0 Gingerbread.

I doubt the manufactures realize that an upgrade in the OS is like a new phone for us. Who doesn't want a new phone early? We are stuck with these for a couple of years.
We usually are the ambassadors for the manufactures and the carriers in a lot of cases. We get asked for advice because we are "into" this.
