Today's software update and Amazon Echo reminders

This morning I received the new software update on my Note 8. I have Virgin Mobile Canada unlocked phone. For the first time, I started getting on screen reminder notifications from Amazon Echo. EG: "Put flea treatment on dogs at 3 PM." I have never seen that before. The notification is via Amazon Alexa app where I am directed to dismiss it after reading it. I am a big Amazon fan and have several devices like Echo Show and Echo and Tap. I find it very handy to get the reminder on my Note 8. I wonder if this is part of the update?

I don't like the intrusion even though I also use their devices. I don't use their app for that reason except on my tablet and I rarely open it. I primarily use the reminders and tasks along with home automation.

I'm retired so it is fine for me. I don't juggle a million balls anymore so having the occasional reminder coming through works for me lol. I do find being to set all my calendar appointments verbally with Echo is great for me as lots of times I don't even have my phone turned on unless I'm heading out of the house. Believe it or not I still have a land line and I would not be lost if I didn't turn my Note 8 on all week lol.
