Towel Root and help request

Got a question for you. How did you install Xposed Framework & Gravity Box on the phone? When i try xposed, first it says "for Samsung only", and then it tries to install, but fails or crashes. I've deleted it for now, until i get it right. SU does grant it permission, but nothing happens.

I used the apk from here:

Xposed - General info, versions & changelog - xda-developers

Had no issues. I do recall seeing the Samsung deal when installing Gravity Box but had no issues with it

Thanks, that worked. Checked out some roms at xda, but nothing so far. Going to talk to my guy at AT&T today, to find out if i have to keep the phone as "stock", if i swap it out in about a year, on this Next Plan. I believe that AutoRec can bring it back to stock, as long as i made a nandroid "stock" back-up, which i did. Thanks again for the help.:p

That's why I really like xposed because I just uncheck the mods I've applied and it's once again "stock"

Just rooted my sph-L710 spring Samsung s3. I checked root with root checker and ran supersu. My device status is still official. Before I go any further, will loading Rom manager and running it install CWM for me? Pardon the obvious smell of noob in the thread :)

Try the S3 section, There's a tutorial to root and install a custome recovery there. I rooted my S3 2 years ago using my computer, it also installed TWRP. Quite different and much easier than how I did my G2

Yeah I don't even have a custom recovery installed but thankfully I'm not trying to flash any ROMs

Heey how do you manage to run towel root? I clicked on the image on the website but I don't have an option to run towel root. when I click on the download it prompts me to find a suitable program to use it with. Also do you know how you would go by unrooting after towelroot?

Sorry for hitching onto yalls thread...but since i have used towelroot, i cant get into download mode on my GFlex. Can gwt into factory reset but zero luck with download. Volume up and plug in..no luck.

another option is to install Goo Manager and use the reboot to recovery function. It's much easier than the manual way in the video. Booting into recovery the manual way on the G2 is a pain in the ***. It was easier on the Galaxy S3

Wait, what am i missing here. Can't you boot into Recovery using AutoRec? Maybe i'm not getting this right, but i've found the G2 easier to use than the SGSIII. Are you talking about using the power & volume buttons on the back?

Yeah, the buttons on the back and then having to hit the power button 3 times. It's not difficult but it's easier just using that function in GM.

Unless I'm mistaken autorec just installs recovery

My bad. AutoRec does only install recovery. Checked out Goo Manager, but i don't think that it's being supported any more.:p

I found this thread searching for those who used towelroot. I probably won't flash any custom Roms, I just wanted to get rid of bloat ware. I'm just not sure if running ROM manager will get me cwm on gs3. I don't have a solid computer right now to install twrp.

AutoRec will install TWRP and it's easy

I'm soooooo tempted to run AutoRec and install TWRP but I know flashing is a sickness that I don't want to come down with again!

Shoot.....sitting here at the table with my wife I've gone ahead and run AutoRec, Wiped and now I'm flashing CM11. Ugh lol

Ran into an issue..... Wiped and flashed cm11 and gapps then rebooted system and now I'm bootlooping on the LG screen Never experienced this before when flashing. Any ideas? :(
