Trade In Thread

And be patient. Your have 15 days to return the trade in. That means the tracking number on the trade in shipment has to go live on day 15. Wait 8 to 10 days just to be sure you want to keep it. There's no race but some seem to think it is.

Agree 100%. If I'm not mistaken, that's like 30 days. No need for me to make a snap decision now that I have it. I may get dazzled on day 12. 😉

You should get an email the day you are scheduled to receive your new phone. The email says "Welcome to the Samsung Trade-in Program". There is a link to print your label for the return of your trade-in.

My phone came on the 13th and I got the email the same day.

Already shipped back my trade-in and it has been received according to FexEx. I haven't got an email from Samsung yet. They will send one when the receive it in their system and after they inspect it they will send you an email saying that the trade-in is complete (or reject it).
I never received that email. I kept all communications with Samsung and have nothing about the return or a label??

Is it worth trying to contact Samsung to get the extra $100 taken off, for those of us who traded it in during the launch?

Tried that. They don't match promotional discounts. Only if the phone price will come down in the next 15 days, they will match it. But there is no chance of this to happen.

Just sent my trade-in back to Samsung. Let see how long it will take this time around.

It looks like the trade-in processing location has changed this year. For the last few years the trade-in devices were processed in TN facility. Now the package is going to Coppell, TX.

They had both Texas and Tennessee last few years as well. Don't think there is any pattern on who gets which one

Well, I'm 30 minutes away from Coppell, TX, and all my previous trade-ins is the past few years went to TN. Talking about logistics.

That's why I said not sure who gets what

I'm in Pacific Northwest and Texas is closer. But couple of times I got Tennessee before. I had got Texas once 2 years back.

This year again Texas

I'm planning to drop off the trade in to FedEx on Monday. I'm also returning the not so great official Samsung clear case. Drop off 2 packages in one visit.

Do you know if you can return a case you got with the promo credit?

I got the buds 2 pro with the $150 credit promo. The clear case was outside the promo so got charged for the actual price.

If I recall from previous years, I believe you could still return if you got via promo and they will be email you the coupon code with the value of the return after they complete processing the return. Not sure if it's a different process now, you might have to chat with customer care and see what they say.

Yeah....they still do that with the promo code on the return because they were going to do that for with the Z FOLD 4. On another off topic note but you'll appreciate this because you got me started on Rakuten. The Rakuten credit for the order I originally placed on the 3rd which I had to cancel because I didn't know if I would be home is still on my account. I reordered and now have 2 Rakuten 15 percent credits.

Rakuten will check on order status at some point and will remove the cashback for returned order.

I sent my 22U back on the 14th. It was delivered on the 17th.
I got a email this morning saying it did not meet the standards of the trade-in since it had a cracked screen or body and they would lower the trade-in value to $125 or they could send it back.

Needless to say this phone left here in perfect shape. I was hardly used since I found it was too big for my daily work so it sat in a desk drawer for most of its life.

So - I called support and they put me on hold while the rep talked to the technician that checked the phone out. While I was on hold I got another email saying the trade-in was complete and everything was OK. When the rep came back on line he said everything is OK and the trade-in was accepted?

Not sure I will ever do another trade-in with Samsung. Price and hassle not worth it.
