Trouble with this website

Anyone else suddenly have trouble with these forums in entering comments or getting Internet Explorer has stopped working errors? This just started yesterday for me and seems to be limited to these forums. My IE freezes many time when I try to scroll and enter text. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this or if I have picked up some malware. Oh, and I also keep getting the popup at the bottom stating only secure information is being displayed and do I want to display all information.

It might be Internet Explorer issues. I usually run Chrome, and haven't run into that at all. I will let the site Admins know about this.

I think the problem is that you're using one of the worst (if not the worst) web browsers available. IE has a terrible reputation for bugs and security flaws.

Install Chrome, and if you really don't like Chrome for some reason, get Firefox, or anything other than IE.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason I really like IE. I could agree with the suggestion that IE is the issue, but this just started a couple of days ago and I have been using IE for years. I have very fast internet (100mb/sec) and this is the only site that is very slow. I also notice that the page on this site loads fast, but you can't do anything, including scrolling down, until the banner ad loads at the top of the page, and this takes up to 10 additional seconds for that ad to load now.

IE has the worst performance with HTML5. I don't know what the website here is built off of, but if they use HTML5 and have made any minor change recently it could break IE's stability here.

Thanks Alex. I have Chrome on my computer at work and will see if it has the same problems. I am even having problems typing in the quick reply field as the text will freeze for 10 seconds at a time. Still no issues with other sites. I've been on Facebook and other forums and my Asus laptop zooms through them.

Would you be able to take a screenshot of the bugs with the ads when you use IE? Members on sister site WindowsCentral have experienced issues with IE occasionally. Screenshots will help tech staff fix the bugs.

I use IE 11 on Windows 7 Pro and it's been mostly fine. It could be quicker to scroll down a loaded thread, but I think that's the site, same with full web view on Android browsers. I was advised here to disable add-ons so Adobe Shockwave took a sabbatical and that helped.

However, I had never been bothered by non site adds in the UK, but lately I have been getting related ads such as Amazon or cars I have searched.
Like Google but not Google.
Could it be my Microsoft account is now logged on IE and I have the full Microsoft package on Android.

Could be something I am missing but I am not bothered.

IE should run OK, faults or not.

I've used IE the least of any browser, since I have more devices that don't support IE than do. Of course, I'm stuck with IE on Windows Phone. However, I also have: Two Android devices, two PCs running Linux plus two Windows PCs. As a result, I use Firefox Nightly and Chrome more than IE. I've had fewer issues with the Mobile Nations sites using Firefox and Chrome.

Thanks Laura, I was getting ready to post that maybe someone altered the site because the problem has disappeared with no more IE freezes or errors, then while I was entering this post it did it again. There are really no screenshots to send because what happens is the screen suddenly turns all white and then just the message that IE has stopped appears then it refreshed the tab, but whatever you put in the Quick Reply is gone. I should add that all these errors only appear now when I am typing in the Quick Reply field, such as now.

Laura, I think I have found a workaround for now on my machine. I noticed many of the ads on the AC site, especially when you are going into individual threads, are now autoplay videos. They seem like the kind where they activate and start playing when your mouse goes over them or you scroll by them. I also noticed that when they started playing my screen would flash, turn white, and freeze, especially if I was typing something in the Quick Reply field, such as now.

I went into IE 11's Tools Menu and disabled Shockwave Flash Object from the Manage add-ons menu....and the problem stopped immediately. No more Android Central not responding messages, no more flashing and no more freezing. I'm going to try it with Shockwave disabled for now and see what I might be missing or doesn't display right for other sites. It appears though, that some of the video ads that have recently been placed are not compatible with the version of Shockwave I have, and possibly I could see if I can update Shockwave and that might also be a solution.

I'm having issues with the following error that appears when using this site on the latest version of Tapatalk when creating a new thread or when replying to a post, I'd like to add that even though the error pops up the thread or comment actually does go through.

Here is that error.

Don't get the error when editing a post.

I have had the same or similar pop-up on Tapatalk, over the last 2/3 days, where when I try to post that pops up (or similar wording), I back out, it says something about a post already created, I come out of the thread where it's still not showing (being previously loaded), I go back in and my post is there.

This is obviously the wrong thread to report this, you can start a new one, but I am going to let it ride for now. I'm sure it will cure itself.

( nice catch BTW - I don't know how you got a screenshot of a pop up. I can never catch the little suckers. :D )

Thanks for confirming, I thought it was just my phone, lol.

I was just about to contact those at Android Central about it.

Do you think it's related to this forum or tapatalk themselves?

Forgot to add that after I get that error I then have to hit the back arrow on Tapatalk then hit refresh to see my latest post or thread, that is after I tap on discard post.

Funnily enough I didn't get the save or discard post that time, lol

I got the same error today posting from the AC Forums app (Tapatalk based). Even after that error my message was posted. It's working fine right now.
