Two weeks today

I'm not a fan of my note 10+ and never should have downgraded from the Note 9. I was hoping the 20 Ultra would be better and from some reviews this isn't the case. I haven't made the jump yet and might hold off on this one.
What kinds of things do you feel are downgrades from your Note 9 and Note 10+?

The note 20 is an upgrade from the 10+ in many ways. This device has not disappointed me at all great camera super quick and great to handle. First Android device I have owned that hasn't farted in any way at all. I highly recommend the note 20.

Again with chargers everywhere why worry? From portable to auto to home and office I haven't worried about my batteries in years. Now apple devices you have to worry I almost purchased a battery case for my 11 thank God the 20 came out.

The only time I need to worry is on vacation while we are out and about. So like 2 or 3 times a year (not in 2020). For those times I will just lower refresh rate and put in battery saver, or carry a small battery pack to get me thru.

I have a solar battery bank. Granted, the solar part charges slower from the cells, but I just open up the solar cells and have them hanging outside my backpack to charge and normally have more than enough to get me through the nights.

Traded in my S20 Ultra for the Note 20 Ultra and in many ways it is better. Especially the camera focus and the night mode. But battery is not as good as my S20 Ultra.
Also wish they had given three choices for the
Refresh rate - a standard one, an adaptive one and a dedicated 120 Hz as with the S20 Ultra. And though both phones are exynos I must admit that the Note gets more frequently warm than my S20 used to. Wish Samsung would fix this.

Nope, returned it. I've owned every Note since the first one and returned this one. First problem with it, they DOWNGRADED the storage. Second problem with it, battery life was NOT good (first Note ever I could say that about). Third problem with it, Google and Apple have proven, you don't need a giant brick on the back of the phone to have a great camera AND it wasn't even good enough to warrant that giant brick which got caught on my pants pocket several times (an accident waiting to happen - and I never use a case but would have had to with that phone). And issue number four, more of an annoyance than anything else, but they FINALLY made the back matte so it wouldn't be a fingerprint magnet but ONLY on the rose gold one (it ain't bronze folks, it's rose gold) so my black one was just as much if not more of a fingerprint magnet than previous ones (I would say more due to the mirror finish)...it should have been matte black.

Those three issues led to me returning it. And while yes two of them were known before ordering it, as I mentioned I've owned every Note to date, so of course I pre-ordered it anyway, but I just couldn't bring myself to keep it. Sticking with my Note 10+ for the foreseeable future.

EDIT: almost forgot too, I had the SD version and it still got REALLY hot under normal usage. Didn't trust that.

Then You had a defected one cause almost everybody on here don't have any issues, So yeah stick with your Apple or what ever it's called enjoy bro.

To each his own if he didn't like it so be it. For me this is the best note to date for me and best of luck to those that return theirs.

I don't recall my Note 20U getting hot under any circumstances. No phone will please everyone. As good as the phone looks and performs to me there are others who will find something about it that they can't live with. The Note 10+ is almost just as good in many ways and better in a couple ways so enjoy it!

Battery is only an issue for me when I'm traveling. In my normal life there's a charger everywhere, including battery packs. Not to mention, I am topping off and typically hooked into the charger often.

For me, battery life is the most overrated issue. There is always a workaround.

I have had my Note 20 Ultra for maybe 3 weeks now. Although it seems to be a good phone, it's really not that much better than my Note 8 was. I have honestly considered returning the Ultra and just using my 8 for another year. One issue I have is that face recognition just refuses to work. Nothing, zero, nada. I have retaken the photo several times. I have done the alternate photo too. I tried turning it off, rebooting the phone, then turning it back on again. It never works. I also find the finger scanner to be very finicky. It seems like I have to type in my password about a third of the time.

Lastly, I have had some issues where if the phone loses 4G reception, it takes for ever to regain it, even if in an area with known reception. For instance, I go into my man cave (which has metal siding walls on the outside) and I can lose all 4G receptivity. When I walked back out with my Note 8, it immediately picked the cell signal back up. In some instances with the Ultra, it has taken 15 or more minutes for the phone to realize that 4G is available again and connect.

As for positives, pictures and videos look better. I like that I can directly connect a USB microphone and make good sounding videos. There is also way more storage on the Ultra than on my old 8. Speed is a little faster, but nothing that really makes a difference for anything that I do on a normal basis (I'm not a gamer).

I am really hoping that the newest Android update will solve some of this.

I am not having any of your issues at all I have the regular 20 I would return yours for a new one.

I had the 20U for the 15-days Samsung said I had before returning it - which is unheard for me considering I've had the Note 3, 5, 8, 9 and currently use the 10+. Each was better than the previous. I am and avid photographer and I take thousands of photos every year - sometimes over 2000 for a 3-day event. The 20U cameras were horrible/useless compared to my 10+. I posted my problems and sample photos in the Samsung community and most commentors agreed that the 10+ photos were far superior when it came to focus/sharpness - especially when taking up-close almost macro photos (which the 20U seems to not be able to do - at least mine could not). Besides all of the camera issues, I too saw some pretty big battery draining issues, especially when connected to my Orbi and Wi-Fi 6.

You did the right thing and returned it, not the phone for you .

Love the snappyness of the 865+ and the performance has been amazing. But there are a few issues like the battery life not lasting a day. Otherwise I have no complaints as the device has been amazing performance wise.
