Unfortunately camera has stopped working error message (LG G3)

I am interested in any advice on how people have resolved this issue.
The problem is the common one where people go to use the camera app and the app opens briefly and then "unfortunately camera has stopped working." If one is able to switch to the front facing app it works, but the rear does not. Sometimes the camera restarts after trying to open the camera app.

Actions already taken:
√ Restarted cell phone
√ Tried different camera app
√ Cleared Camera app data/cache
√ Removed battery overnight and restarted
√ Factory Reset
√ Removed camera module connector and reset it

Is there anything that I should be trying?
Is my next option to replace the camera module, or is that unlikely to be the source of the problem.

The phone is not rooted.

I have had that problem on some phones if I had previously used the "flashlight" - whether a third-party app or the one built-in to some versions of Android OS. It was especially prevalent if I allowed the flashlight to time out and turn itself off automatically vs. my turning it off manually.

This may not be your issue, but I just wanted you to be aware of it as a possibility.

Thanks N4Newbie. I just un-installed the flashlight app and re-started the phone. I still receive the error message.

But thanks for the suggestion. I am running out of potential solutions for this problem.
