I wouldn't have known it if I didn't manually check. For some reason when updates become available my s20 won't show them even though I have it set to download automatically upon availability.

I'm assuming, given the OPs circumstance, that most or many of you also have unlocked devices. So to the unlocked people on Verizon I have a question; can anyone confirm or deny that this update is also bringing Verizon's 5G update as well? I skimmed through the list of updates and didn't notice mention of 5G being included. In another thread someone with the beta said they also got 5G and thought since, as far as I know no one with unlocked devices on Verizon, has gotten the stand alone update yet. To echo the OP that update has been out for going on 2 months for the branded devices so I'm just wondering when it is going to trickle down to us 1 percenters?

Yes, I now show 5G on my unlocked Ultra on Verizon since installing the update

I can kind of support this theory. Spectrum Mobile is my carrier. It is my understanding that Spectrum Mobile works off of the Verizon network.

Prior to the One Ui 3.0 update yesterday morning I had never had 5G service come though on my unlocked S20 Ultra. In the past day and a half I've been able to get low band 5G speeds of between 35 and 105 mbps, depending on what part of town I'm in. I'm in a small market city and up until yesterday morning hadn't ever seen the "5G" symbol on my phone. I'm pleased and am hopeful speeds will continue to improve in our area as Verizon builds their network.

Thank you to the replies about 5G. I for the first time have noticed the 5G icon in my notification bar today.

On a more related topic, the thing I've noticed more since the update is the phone feels so much better. Perhaps it the new animations or some of the new look but overall the phone feels snappier, more responsive and things it wasn't doing right now seem to be working. Smart Lock is working like it should. And is it just me but does the screen look better? I mean it could be psychosomatic because everything else seems better but I swear the screen is clearer, the color may be a little better but everything seems sharper also. So far the only thing that I'm feeling is the aspect ratio in the folders. Not a super big deal, I'm sure it'll grow on me but yeah now some of my formally one page folders are two pages.

To me the scrolling etc is better. No more occasionally jerky movements.

AOD is a bit more functional too.

One thing I am disliking is the pop up window feature when I click on a text message (using Google Messages) that pops up in AOD. Annoying to get out of it.

I don't use the AOD but the chat bubbles are kind of annoying now. I had to enable them again after the update, through the app this time, maybe, I'm not sure but whatever. Since I've enabled them again they are getting really annoying. Before they only popped up if you weren't in the app. Now they pop up in the app. I'm already in the app I don't need the chat bubble. I think once I figure out how to reply from the notifications I'll probably turn them off.

The notification count is becoming annoying as well. Some apps seem to clear the notification when you open the app naturally, not using the notification, and clear the count but other apps, like Google Messages, don't seem to clear the notification so the count remains. It might be that I've only looked at one notification/message from one sender and it sees that there are unviewed messages so it doesn't clear them but it seems that it used to be if you opened the app they cleared. Or at least the count did.
