Google Nexus 7 Pre-Order Shipments Delayed, FCC To Blame?

Is disaster looming for the many of us who ordered from the Play store? I hope not...

Lets all presume GS has really been selling them. If the FCC delayed it GS could not sell it. People with the 8gb wouldn't be getting the notification. I would more bet Google didn't remind Asus about the Play Store supposed to be getting theirs first. So everyone with an 8gb is ok because only the Play store sells them. The 16gb I wouldn't be surprised if we got screwed and ASUS sent them all out.

We'll be the last ones to get ours possibly end of next week since we're in the second wave. Google is doing their orders last in first out.

Hmmm... from what ive read elsewhere, looks like all the 8GB orders are being charged first (including those that ordered an 8GB & a 16GB together). I have seen people charged that had ordered as late as July 2nd so the "first wave" might not be as small as we originally thought.

Im sure the 16GBs of the "first wave" will follow later today.

where did you order the case from because when I went to the play store on june 27th it had it as not aviable for pre-order.

Ugh, now I'm considering refusing my Play shipment and calling all the surrounding Gamestops. Sucks that I'm actually considering this.

I already tried and that didn't even work. No store around my area had any preorders so none have any in stock what so ever

I'm sorry, I'm no whiner but this is simply poor business practice. I believe Google is a better company than this and something else is going on that they are trying to keep a lid on... only time will tell.

I called Game Stop and they stated they were out but had sold all of the preorders already.
I ordered the 27th and havent received any updates yet.

I guess the real lesson to be learned here is if you want to get it first, you should pre-order from multiple stores and multiple configurations. Then you can return/refuse/cancle all but the first to arrive. this of course is unsustainable behavior from Googles point of view if it were to get popular, but this is what they are training us to do ...

All of the GS's in Pittsburgh were apparently told to not sell any extra (non-preorder) n7's they have. I only called 2 but both said this.

You guys need to take a deep breath. Not everything is a conspiracy. You pre-purchased a device that said it would ship in 2-3 weeks and it's shipping within the 2-3 week window. You've all put far too much faith into the rumors that get pushed around on these forums, and now it's soured your opinion on Google.

Do I wish I had mine already? Of coruse. Am I going to throw a fit because someone can walk into Gamestop and buy one? No, because mine is still on it's way. Well within the timeframe Google provided when I agreed to purchase.

Well, I preordered mine from Gamestop on 7/11. I didn't get a text to come pick it up this morning but I went there at 10AM when they opened up and bought my Nexus 7!!!

I just told her that I had received the text and gave her my receipt. They only had 2 in stock for the two preorders before mine and I wasn't supposed to get mine until their next shipment. I do feel kinda bad that someone today isn't going to get theirs for a little while. LOL
