I kind of doubt it. I ventured out into the real world today and didnt hear a single person talking about the N7 release. This is a bubble.

There's quite a bit of talk going on regarding this 'shipping starting tomorrow and that for each day after the 27th you ordered, to add a day for when your unit would be shipped' thing.

Personally, I will be pretty irritated if that holds true and I, having ordered from Google Play in the wee hours of the morning on the 30th, have to wait until next Friday while everyone who preorderd from Gamestop or Staples on the 7th or 8th has already picked theirs up presumably Tuesday or Wednesday, or earlier.

If that's the case, it will be a very long time before I order anything from Play again.

I'm with you on this one! I definitely want mine before someone who ordered it from a retailer! Not that it really matters as I know I'll get it eventually, but it makes sense that if you order it directly from the source that you get it from someone who ordered it elsewhere! And I'm guessing they'll be sending the stores more than the pre-ordered number of devices, and if they do that, they can obviously fulfill my order instead of sending those extras to retail stores!

This should be interesting... I ordered one from Google on the 3rd and one from staples on Monday. So far staples has been more communicative and pro active than Google about email updates and what not.

Wonder which one will show up first...

It would also be nice to see some sort of update on my account from google. I wouldn't even care if it was as simple as "shipping soon". I just want some sort of acknowledgement that my device might be in a box waiting to be shipped.

Agreed. I'm the only person in my office that I know of excited about this release, and I work in IT! But that could also be due to the fact that I live on an island ...

True, very true. I wasn't exited when news was first released but they started adding cool features. I wish google will let me buy magazines since this will be my first android, but you have to have a device. Reading Xbox magazine to get excited about something else would help get my mind off of this.

Im excited too, but not obsessive. I just dont buy into any theory that Google has some other motive other than they want this launch to go well. Loose lips sink ships.

Agreed, about the receiving it sooner than it being available at retail. I'm gonna have a serious case of butt-hurt if I paid for shipping and tax, only to find out that I could have waited and picked it up at a retail location and just paid tax.

Just a tad bit. Ive heard some mainstream reporting on the N7, including a mention on the WSJ This morning radio show. But Ive heard nothing about dates other than here in this thread or on AC. When Apple releases a new product, its hard for the whole world to not know about the release or the specific date. All I am saying is, while we are excited about this, it will go unnoticed in the rest of the world.

And so far nothing has cleared my credit card and I have yet to receive any info from Google :-/
