US release date could be July 12th!

I?m sorry but I still don?t get the all the hate towards the Google store. People preordered from them under the impression they would receive before retail stores would. Even though Google never stated or implied that. They did state a 2-3 week lead time. Most would agree we are through week three. If you were not happy with that why did you order it? Is this more of a case of buyers preorder remorse? Could you have waited a day or two to see if there would be other ways to purchase the item?

Now this might be my ignorance, but I was anticipating a preorder climate like an Apple release. I thought that I better preorder day one from the source or I won't be able to find one in the store for weeks, like how every Apple release goes. It never occurred to me that Google would start allowing preorders to other retailers and that those would be fulfilled before mine.

well said jedi, im tired of hearing people , i mean why do you think they didnt just announce a release date? because then people woulda ed about that as well, july 21? no way, come on guys get real, just wait your 2 or 3 extra days and chill

Initially, there were talks of them not being available in retail stores until much later down the line. In all honesty, if I had known that at the time I pre-ordered I would have done that. I prefer to go to a store to get my items b/c I detest waiting for UPS/FedEx in my complex.

It's not hatred; I still have my case coming from them. It's a bit of frustration. Now, if GS is selling them "without Google's blessing," then that opens up a whole other can of worms IMO.

Yet another call to Google cs. I ordered June 27. My order is being processed for shipment and I should have it next week. I asked him how are people getting their nexus from stores today and he said we told them to not sell them and we can't control what they do. Wow.

Does anyone that has their 7 in hand know how you redeem the $25 Google Play credit?

I put my order in at Office Depot and the only thing it says is "
Login to the Google play site for directions and confirmaton on receiving the $25.00 credit and free movie."

I think the fact that Google never gave an official release date, and only gave us a window, pretty much guarantees that you won't be getting shipping charges back. They also didn't state that it's the only way to get a Nexus 7.

They are definitely being sloppy with getting these things moving though. It's not a huge surprise though, they're not a company with expertise in retail products.

Once you activate the tab under your email, it will directly applied to that email.

You know how all those Apple fanboys love to order their stuff directly from the Apple store, it makes them feel special or something?

Well as an Android fanboy today, I'm not quite getting that special feeling having ordered directly from Google Play. In fact I need to find a corner to cry in right about now. Excuse me. :'(

fortunately for me my office is in the corner and Im a programmer so I tend to work in the dark.

I was just told by an Office Depot CSR that they won't be shipping orders until the 16th and delivery would be within 5 after it ships.

Well, then... Maybe it depends on location? Before the CSR could answer my question they asked for my zip code.

It was implied to me because of their nexus phones that are only available through the play store. So if the nexus phone isn't available in stores, i figured that why would they offer the tablet in stores?

On another note, I called Gamestop and noone preordered so they will not be getting any. Staples has none either. Anyone know who else sells them? Google doesn't say anything so I'm kind of in the dark and i don't feel like calling every store in my town

I guess that is what I am failing to understand, the "I got it first" mentality. Congrats, you got it before me. I've managed to live my life up to this point without out, I can wait a few days/weeks. Perhaps the second wave might not come with bugs that sometimes plague launch releases.

If GS calls me today and says I'm good to go great, if not, oh well. No biggie.

You would think there would be more people posting pictures of their devices. With all these "Going to pick it up now" posts.

Goodbye thread got my N7 from GS no need to be here now good luck play store customers

Which that isn't true. When I worked at target if you sold a movie before the street date the store could get fined

I can't apologize for the "I got it first" mentality. Sort of comes with the arena of consumer electronics. I'm less bothered by not getting it first than I am about paying for the shipping AND not getting it first. If I didn't have to pay shipping and got it next week, or conversely if I paid the shipping but got it today, you wouldn't hear a peep out of me. Just paying shipping and getting it late feels like adding insult to injury.

Also, I just checked my email and it says expected delivery date of July 17. I'm fully aware that it could be false information, but I hope the CSR I talked to knew what they were talking about!

I know I shouldn't get this upset, but I'm sorry, I am. NEVER again will I pre-order from Google.
