I gave up the local search and placed an order with Office Depot. They claim I will have it by Tuesday (July 17th). I hope they don't disappoint.

About an hour ago, I sent a very politely-worded email to Google's customer service asking to please have the shipping portion of my Nexus 7 purchase refunded to me. I fully expect it to be ignored or form-responded with no money back to me, but you never know until you try.

I tried that and got no response. Called, waited 30 minutes and was told that they were no longer able to cancel order. Unless I refused the shipment when it came in. SMH

Google Play order from June 27th (16gb) still no activity either..

GS guy who sold me his pre-order said what he was told is that the delay was from the Apple suit against search. Take it for what it is worth though. Also stated that they would be making an announcement today.

If that was the case then the 8gb should not being sent, and GS would be getting some major repercussions for selling them.

I believe we all learn a valuable lesson today, which you never pre order from google they will screw you up. Instead go to a store like gamestop.

I just got off the google line. There was no mention about shipping dates in the automated message. The guy i talked to said gamestop messed up and is not supposed to be selling them yet. He said play store orders should ship out next week. F'in BS.

I haven't been charged yet and don't have an update to my Play account. I ordered the 16GB @ 1:55 pm on 6/27.

I called and spoke to first guy who had nothing to offer and asked for a Supervisor. I politely explained how frustrating it was to preorder and have people able to buy the product in store before I received it.

I asked if they could refund me the shipping costs as a result of this and he said that he currently can't do anything.

I then asked if i were to refuse receipt of the shipment would I be credited for the shipping. He put me on hold to find out and came back and said the entire purchase price would be refunded including shipping if the package is refused. Supervisors name was Eric, but I didn't get a last name.

I only wish that they would have specified what constitutes "first wave" of shipments. I have heard several different cut-off dates for the first shipment (30th? 4th?). While I dont expect to be on it (I ordered the 6th), I would like to know... I guess I'll just have to wait until I get that charge/tracking number.

Edit: People on XDA are now saying orders before the 1st are on the First wave.
