USB device not recognized

Hi Guys

Same problem, USB device not recognised by Windows. Lifting up the tongue did not work for me, but this did: Plug the phone in, restart the phone, windows recognises it. No problems.

For people who like me couldn't solve this problem.

I tried to bend this tongue with no better success afterwards, but I switched my connection cable to another one then it worked !

It appears that the other one - non official micro usb - was poorly featured, switching back to the original Samsung cable solved the issue for me.

Hello All.

Please Help.

I have a Samsung Galaxy 3 mini. I tried to root it, unfortunately used the wrong ROM and it went into Bootloop.
Then I tried installing again, but that did not work either

My phone can get into download mode, but my computer does not recognize it. It comes up as "other devices"

When I right click on properties (in device manager) there is no device name.
When I try to install the drivers, My PC says drivers are installed and up to date.

How can I restore my phone, when my PC won't recognize it.

Hello,

Lifting the tongue up-wards(thats when phone screen is facing me) has been helpful.

Somebody mentioned of a hardware issue. It will be nice to investigate as well.

Cheers.

Try this...it worked for me...Except I started getting this all of the sudden and Every single time I would connect to my PC.

I read this solution on the internet but did not think it would work...but I took 2 minutes and tried it and it worked! give it a try..you only have to lose 2 minutes...

1. hold your phone and look at the micro USB connector on the bottom edge of your Skyrocket

2. you will see a "tongue" inside the USB port.

3. put something "non metalic" (I used a flat wooden toothpick). Gently, lift up the "tongue"..
I used a twirling motion on my toothpick to raise the tongue up a little bit. Don't Go PRYING it up...just be gentle because you don't want to break your toothpick inside the phone or break the Tongue.

I did this and now I do not get the "USB device is not recognized". Give it a try and post here if it worked for you. Spread the word if it does.

Good Luck!

This seems to be the problem thank you. well i have this issue my phone does charge fine its just the file transfer i wanna transfer music from my pc to my phone it might get one or 2 tracks if im lucky.

I didnt have a tooth pick so i tried a lolly stick it was too thick so didn't work very well i had nothing else so i used a knife gently lifted the thing up plugged my phone in and now its transferring music has been for the past 10 minutes so far so good normally it would disconnect after 20 seconds or so its been going alot long now i did that, its so annoying how it charged up fine yet some how wasn't connected for file transfer. too bad i just splashed out on a new wire thought the old wire was faulty but even the new wire doesnt work not a cheap one ether i have it connected to the old wire its still coping files thank you very much!!!

i tried the toothpick method and it didn't work completely. it made my phone recognise the computer once, although the computer still doesn't recognise the phone and it still says the USB device isn't recognised. i've tried the toothpick a few times, but i'm worried if i do it any more that i'll break the phone. so it didn't work for me.
