Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Re: Put the VZ GN in the "rumored devices" forum.

Only 6 weeks till CES. Just about to the point of waiting to see what is next and when.

I'm thinking they will announce the phone sometime at CES with a release date in the March to April timeframe.

I'm kidding of course, but nothing surprises me anymore.

Re: Put the VZ GN in the "rumored devices" forum.

If you guys want to do this send me one dollar via PayPal, when it gets to 300 I'll go out and buy a Razr. Then I'll walk out of the store and throw it into the ground. Then when I'm not able to return it the GN will surely be released the following day....Things like this happen like clock work daily with me.

VZW News - Tweet

I just got this tweet and it takes you to the sign up page. After signing up again, I got an email saying "coming soon" from Verizon in regards to the GN.

Great to see the buzz on the #Nexus. Sign up here for alerts to be among the 1st to know when it will be available. http://bit.ly/soTTnR"

Re: VZW News - Tweet

I unsubscribed from both the Verizon and Samsung news feeds yesterday because I realized they only use them to spam you with offers I don't care about. Most forums will have any confirmed news before they make it to you in an email.

Why does Verizon keep tweeting about the Nexus? Makes no sense whatsoever to keep pushing people to the sign up page.

They're just catering to the vast majority of customers rather than enthusiasts. I'm not sure how that works on twitter, but that's how I see it.

They have a sign up for all phones. Sad thing is the email shows up a day or two later... at least it always happens to me.

Re: VZW News - Tweet

I posted this in the waiting room thread. I'm not sure another VZWnews tweet about the sign up page is really worth an entire thread.

Sorry you don't think so. I figured with all the hoo haa about this release, an official tweet from the carrier about the phone might be newsworthy. :-[

If they really cared about the buzz they would release the thing

Re: VZW News - Tweet

Meh, you will generally learn about a release from other sources much sooner and I agree with the above post, their Twitter accounts are all marketing jargon anyways.

just like verizon was getting an sgs2 with lte in the summer like the twitter accounts said lol. I wouldn't put much faith in those from verizon.

Re: VZW News - Tweet

if verizon actually acknowledged the buzz on the nexus, we must be getting closer!

Right. Because the Bionic wasn't delayed either...

Well technically the Bionic was canned, right? The Bionic we have now is simply another device that was pushed faster in development and had spec changes to match the old Bionic and slap on the Bionic name.

1Q2012 is my guess at this point. The lack of information from Verizon just paints the picture that they do not care about this niche market craving the latest/greatest version of Android. Shoving the release into January would accomplish a couple things. First, inflate profits in 1Q2012, and second, screw some people who decided to "rent" one of their other more favored phones. I just hope they release the phone during the "double data" deal.

More on topic, I don't think this is vaporware. We know the phone exists, we know all the parts in it, we know Verizon is going to carry it, we just don't know the release date.

Aren't fiscal quarters different from yearly quarters?
