Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

The above at least in my opinion is a common response from VZW employees at their stores. Most of the time, they do not know when product is set to arrive, or be released. They know that they receive inventory each week. I think that is the manager trying to keep you happy and hoping that they do receive additional information about a release later this week.
Blasphemer, that's just wild speculation and rumor. Verizon never said that, so how could it be true. You can't possibly bring up a plausible scenario if Verizon doesn't announce it. You should be hung by your nipples for posting your opinion. Sorry, I'm just sick of the hypocrites contradicting their own arguments they jumped on someone else for doing a similiar action to what you just did. It's getting to be a downer to read while surfing the threads these days.

Sometimes facts and reality can be a real downer, man.

I can't believe tomorrow is November 30th and we're still clueless about the release. What a comical situation this has become.

It really has devolved into a ridiculous, ridiculous situation.

You guys think this is bad... The Thunderbolt was 10x worse.

The Android manufacturers don't get it... Don't announce it until you know it's ready to be sold.

Even if the TB release was as you say 10X worse, VZ came out smelling like a rose. I remember ppl gushing about how great the TB was and the blazing fast 4g. All the love came flowing back even though folks were screaming bloody murder.

I suspect it'll be no different with the GN.

There is a date set that VZW has committed to for the Gnex. They just have to ship it on or before that date. Which I heard is sometime in December so nothing radically new, just that it will be out in a few weeks.

And remember there does not need to be a pre order. The phone can just come out.

The brief honeymoon period was just the calm before the storm. Everyone is impressed by 4g speed so all went well til the novelty wore off and they began to encounter software bugs. Now most TB owners wanna move to greener pastures.

Put the VZ GN in the "rumored devices" forum.

JK, of course. I know the GN is real and real close, but it's starting to feel like much of the vaporware we (never) see ...
::sigh::

Re: Put the VZ GN in the "rumored devices" forum.

ru?mor [roo-mer]
noun
1. a story or statement in general circulation without confirmation or certainty as to facts: a rumor of war.
2. gossip; hearsay: Don't listen to rumor.
3. Archaic . a continuous, confused noise; clamor; din.
Since just about everything posted about the GN meets the definition of rumor it seems like a reasonable request. :)

Re: Put the VZ GN in the "rumored devices" forum.

I *believe* that big red will eventually release the GN. But then, I was one of the few who *believed* that Duke Nukem Forever would eventually release too. Heck, it only took 15 years from first announcement to release Duke Nukem Forever. C'mon, we have PLENTY of time left for big red to release the GN, right? So, I've marked November, 2025 on my calendar as the LATEST possible date!

Actually, I found a rumor on another site by a mod named Steven58 (guy named Steven58) who has a source suggesting the possibility of a 2012 release of the GN. Apparently big red is pondering whether there is some value of pushing the GN sales to Q1 2012 to make the bean counters happy.

If this rumor pans out, then I think I'll sit on the sidelines until after CES to see what is on the horizon (read: 2nd gen LTE radios and more efficient screens like AH-IPS to improve battery life). Because by 2012, the GN becomes MUCH more obselete imo.

Re: Put the VZ GN in the "rumored devices" forum.

1Q2012 is my guess at this point. The lack of information from Verizon just paints the picture that they do not care about this niche market craving the latest/greatest version of Android. Shoving the release into January would accomplish a couple things. First, inflate profits in 1Q2012, and second, screw some people who decided to "rent" one of their other more favored phones. I just hope they release the phone during the "double data" deal.

More on topic, I don't think this is vaporware. We know the phone exists, we know all the parts in it, we know Verizon is going to carry it, we just don't know the release date.

Only 6 weeks till CES. Just about to the point of waiting to see what is next and when.
