Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

I thought Google had always wanted the Nexus devices to be on all carriers, and the NS was supposed to be on all, but Verizon backed out at the last moment.

Now I have Verizon, so I really hope they get the NP, but I don't see why they would deserve a shot at having it first. I'm just hoping for a simultaneous launch on all major carriers.

Well if you think back to when the Nexus S was released, Verizon's LTE wasn't ready yet, at least for phones, since then Google decided to launch the Xoom exclusively on Verizon with LTE, and I think they realize that it's coming up on two years since the launch of the original Droid and we haven't had a vanilla Android device since then.

Hopefully it has Lte on Verizon. I feel like there's no android phone that has everything. A 4.6 inch phone with dual core, lte, and pure Google would be fantastic. Perhaps perfect.

Isn't it in Samsung's best interest to leak as much information about the Prime as they can before the Bionic launches? They want people who are disappointed about the lack of GS2 on Verizon to wait for the Prime.

The Xoom has LTE? pretty sure that they did not launch yet and seeing as Verizon is the only 1 with LTE at this time I would also guess that it is not a Verizon exclusive unit.

Okay, free upgrade to LTE whatever you want to call it. All I'm saying is now that LTE has matured Google has shown an interest in it, and yeah as far as I can tell you can't get the "3G" Xoom on any other carrier.

You can't believe half the stories you hear from people who tweet riddles or half assed info on twitter. At this point tweets as well as blogs are speculating and have no solid info.

If you're referring to P3Droid, he can defiantly can be trusted. He knows people in Verizon, Motorola and Samsung. His team is usually behind firmware leaks and every once in a while drops info on upcoming devices.

If you say so. Firmware leaks and having inside information are two different things. I'll leave it on that note.

According to P3Droid's latest tweet, it seems VZW will be the first to get it. But there is. GSM variant. So I'm going to assume right off the bat Verizon will get it and maybe Tmobile. Probably some time later, an AT&T LTE variant and a Sprint WiMax (or LTE) variant.

^This, and sounds like Thanksgiving will be the launch date. Of course that could be changed to earlier or later date. I'm just excited ginger wireless is getting this phone, worth waiting for!

Edit: Also, P3Droid is saying the model (GT-I9250) being referenced as the Prime is incorrect from what he knows.

Not necessarily. If they aren't releasing the Prime until November, that's too long of a wait for most people looking to buy now.

How do you think they get the firmware to use? And why would an incredibly reputable dev lie about something like this? He probably couldn't care less if he's known as an insider, he is a very good asset to the Android hacking world. He's just passing along the info he has about the phone. Besides, most of us vets know it's usually the later release date that ends up being true. The first set of release dates never pan out.

Incredibly reputable? Seriously. This is the dude that was telling people to unroot cause the newest software would tell verizon that you had root and your contract would be void. xD LOL. I'm done.
P.S. Wasn't gonna go there but you took it there.

They can go hand and hand. You can find certain info in the code of a build. Example would be the carrier and/or the radio it's running on. Also, you would think someone who would have access to something like early software builds, could have access to information on the product the software runs on, no?

You're not really questioning his contributions to that Andy community, are you?!?! He's proven himself over and over, and you wanna nitpick?! Maybe you could stack your track record up against his so an accurate assessment could be made among the forum members as to who to believe...

Or maybe I shouldn't. Not looking for e-fame or need your vote to be alpha dog. True insiders hit the tip button on the upper right. They don't tweet riddles. This here is why we keep info locked down tight. Enjoy the crumbs they drop you. Butchered leaks that take you to their site and ask for donations on leaked software.

On a different note than the current topic....

Anybody notice that the SGSII models getting "beefed up" look remarkably like the prime? sans that beautiful screen of course....

Maybe verizon took the galaxy name off in order to be the first to the prime, just my observation.....

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying, or I missed something. Since when do we know what the Prime looks like?

You are entitled to your opinion, but many here don't eat crumbs, or buy butchered leaks. P3Droid is the man, and just because he nvram hacks responsible, you can't discount what he says unless you have PROOF? Well, spill that meat butcher.
