how exactly do you know that?
Just a guess based on history, rumor, and what we know at this point.
how exactly do you know that?
Only reason I could see the name Samsung Galaxy Prime happening...
It was Galaxy Nexus, not Galaxy Prime.
Not to totally derail this thread > but a quick rabbit trail > I just popped into the local Verizon store and played with the Droid Bionic just a bit. Bottom line: The bionic is slightly impressive but not much. Larger 4.3 " screen, motoblur, 2.3.4, slightly peppy multitasking...The lapdock is ok, it's an android laptop with thin chicklet keys...not very impressive. Can't seem to figure out why anyone would buy both the bionic and lapdock.
All that to Say > Yes > I'm glad that (a month ago) I decided not to get the Bionic. With the Prime's glorious 1.5Ghz dual core goodness, huge 1280x720 res, and (gulp) a blast of Android 4.0 purity...yeah, the Prime is my "Prime" pick for now.
The Bionic just keeps screaming to me "too little, too late." The bionic would've been awesome 6 months ago...but now that the Prime is just around the corner, I'm pumped.
But that's ok with me. Brush away all the rumors, speculation, and rubbish...and the real reason the Prime appeals to me is the fact that it's a mini-tablet. Yeah, I can go out and buy an iPad or Galaxy tablet...but...with the Prime's huge res, I can do MOST of everything on it that I could on tablet. Why buy both a tablet and a phone when you can have one device that is both?Lol, and by the time we get any confirmation on Amy of those rumors, or the Nexus comes out, they'll be talking about phones with the next Gen processors.

Right, I know. I just feel like this thread is moving in the right direction. I paid close attention to the Bionic rumors for about 2 months before I gave up on the Bionic...and most the hardware spec rumors were correct. I'm hoping that at least the 720p rumors about the Prime are correct as well.Remember though that all of the hardware specs at this point is all speculation, including the CPU, display resolution, display size, etc.

Brush away all the rumors, speculation, and rubbish...and you're left with absolutley nothing at all. There is absolutley no real info other than there is a new phone coming.
i know how much you like confirmation- but there is a difference between wild-arse speculation, and educated logical conclusions. given that this will be Google's debut of ICS, we can logically come to some conclusions about specs:
1. it will be dual core. and, with Google's announced partnership/preference for TI, we can pretty safely conclude it will be OMAP. if not, then it would be Exynos. either way, pretty stout.
2. it's being made by Sammy. Sammy has essentially confirmed this. and given this, it's pretty safe to conclude that it will have the SAMOLED HD screen.
3. it will be LTE. no way is Google going to debut ICS without being able to show off the speed and capabilities of its new OS version.
granted, the rest is largely speculation. but, imo, these are the biggies, and what have me sold (almost).
Well, SamFirmware has what they believe is a rendering of the Nexus Prime. Of course, you should take this with a grain of salt till someone can confirm this. Interesting nonetheless.

Agreed. Still just trying to keep people tethered somewhere in reality;-)

LOL granted, i could use good dose of reality-tethering every now and again - but let's not make it a regular occurrence, ok?!![]()
I will say, I don't see how the next Nexus can stay exclusive to any one carrier for too long. Would be a huge mistake for Google, and kind of against what they're trying to do. Google should have learned that from the last two Nexus. And we all know Verizon doesn't have the money to change Google's mind on that

agreed. IF we assume the latest name rumors are true (Galaxy Nexus), i would expect the other carriers to pick up the Nexus in late Q1 as an "upgrade" to the GS2.
