Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

another rumor from PhoneArena

it claims the Nexus Prime to have a 4.65" display with HD resolution and a completely METAL shell, 1280X800 res same as the Note, boasting 324.6 pixel density.

also, another source GSMArena states beside having a full metal chassis, the screen might also be a curved screen (Nexus S), and 8.8mm thick.

I have been waiting for over a year for the Bionic and now the Prime sticks its name in the mix....what to do. I got burnty waiting for the Nexus One and do not want to have that happen again.
Yep. Its the same quandry that I am facing. Battery life is going to be the killer for me and so far it looks like you may be able to a full 16 hours (or something close to that) out of the bionic with the right settings. So it looks like I will hold out until we hear something about the battery life of the Prime.

I just caught this article over at Engadget.

What are the possibilities of something like this making it in to the Prime?

New Marvell single chip LTE modem for mobile phones.

I doubt the prime will have the Marvell Modem technology since the press release just came out. My guess it that it will at least be 6 months - 1 year before this appears in any hardware configuration. Looks really cool though.

So is the Prime an Verizon exclusive, or will Sprint and T-Mobile get the same phone or similar Nexus this year still ? I would hate to have to wait until May for the Nexus to reach Sprint, like we had to wait 5-6 months after the Nexus-S was first released.

Otherwise if the Nexus will only be coming to Verizon this year, might need to start looking up their family plans.

This is as amazing as amazing gets. So gonna be worth it from the sound of it. Verizon, dont drop the ball.

Honestly I think both radio versions will be available before the holidays. They learned their lesson from the Nexus S. I expect Verizons window of exclusivity not to exceed a month.

My opinion, true, but Id say a safe bet.

Yay! More completely unsubstantiated rumors.

not to be contrary, but i think the Nexus will be a VZW exclusive for a few months. if the recent name rumors are true, that would explain why VZW passed on the GS2. and, given all the other carriers are going to be launching the GS2, it doesn't make sense that they would also immediately offer another, similar Galaxy device (Galaxy Nexus).

in the context of market competition, this is what makes sense to me: VZW offers the Galaxy Nexus as an "exclusive" in order to compete with at&t, t-mo, and sprint offering the Galaxy S II.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on there. Let's not bring logic into this. ;)

So we have three choices now
  • Galaxy Nexus
  • Droid Prime
  • Nexus Prime
Heads explode.

Yeah, one US version with 2 radio choices, CDMA or GSM.

Anyone else now DYING for a picture?

I still think it's convenient that all these Nexus rumors are swirling around on the day/week that the Bionic is released. None of these rumors are really telling us anything.

it's never "convenient" - it's been happening for a long time. now that the Bionic is out, and the other carriers have announced the GS2, i can almost guarantee you that the Prime leaks are going to really heat up.

Would be nice if it was like this and it would blow everyone away:

Galaxy Nexus- Sprint. Anyone else find it interesting that Sprint was able to get SGS2ET4G released 1st?
Droid Prime- Verizon. Droid and Verizon enough said!
Nexus Prime- T-Mobile. Sticking with tradition T-Mobile getting PURE Nexus device.
???? Prime- AT&T. Still waiting to hear some other kind of leak for another variation.

International version would be the Nexus Prime.

Like all things business, I think Sprint paid a bit more to have it released or ATT have theres on a Sunday so that gave Sprint the edge on releasing it. If you want to call 2 days an edge lol... Sprint does like to use the first to market ad campaign so it works for them to release on Friday.

When this phone is finally announced it will be one name on one carrier. I'm still sticking with Videophone outside the US and Verizon in the US.
