Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

My arguement is still that the big slab phone never seemed to be the idea behind the Nexus. The Nexus seemed to be a sleek, well rounded phone, not a mini tablet. It'll be disappointing.

Understand you and agree to appoint. Yes the phone screens are getting crazy in size. Even though I personally would go as big as 5+ just cause . I do think since ICS is a combination of GB+HC that it would need a big enough screen to utilize the features. But if they can fit all this into a phone size no bigger than and hopefully smaller the E4GT it will be perfect imo...

I agree with the Nexus line of phones being more sleek and rounded. Both the Nexus-One and Nexus-S have a very comfortable feel, rounded edges/corners makes it easier to hold and fit in hand nicely. I sure hope the Nexus-Three or Droid-Prime don't follow the Galaxy S2 rectangle and sharp edges, well the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 does have a Nexus look to it.

I don't know if the Galaxy S2 has "sharp edges". I personally don't know if the form factor of the Nexus will be consistant. There are only 2 past phones to really go off of, so it's not like a huge sampling size or anything.

I agree to an extent, but look at what else was out there when they cane out. Compare the N1 to the Hero, or the NS to everything else that was out at the time. They were much more sleek, while having superior performance. I just hope they stick with that formula.

Also, when people say sharp edges when decreeing to slab phones, it just means that theyre not rounded very much. Like the EVO and S2. The T-Mobile version does look a bit better

when do y'all think it will come to at&t?

haha made an account just to ask this
Looks like Verizon will get it first (CDMA) in late Oct/Nov. Ill assume the GSM model will be here before the holidays.

November, in time for black friday possibly.

With the now standard "timelines subject to change", blah blah blah

i hope that it'll release on all the carriers at the same time, hopefully october, but i'm thinking november

If it was coming to all carriers at the same time the GS2 wouldn't have been released in the US. The most likely scenario is a one carrier release followed later by others.

Why not have it on all carriers by December ? And still have the new Galaxy S2's released.

Samsung did the same thing last year. They released the Galaxy S1 in Aug/Sept to all four U.S. carriers, and then Samsung/Google released the Nexus-S in December, which was basically a tweaked Galaxy S1. So this "Prime" series of phones is supposed to be a beefed up Galaxy S2, major difference being the screen, and of course "ice cream".

The phone was released on one carrier in December. It didn't come to Sprint until March. The GS2 is a much bigger launch in 2011 than in 2010 and there's a reason VZW passed on the GS2.

Please let that reason be the Prime and not the Craposhere....

This just might be the GSII LTE for Verizon... IMO nothing there i just read says Prime other than the article... But hopefully that model number is for the Prime...

I think you messed the link on Samsung's website. It's labeled "nexusprime.xml."
I've been reading this forum for 3 weeks and finally decided to jump in!

Some have speculated that this file is just a placeholder. Why would they update the filename as "nexusprime.xml" yet not change the 480 x 800 resolution to reflect 1280x720 (720p)? If the res is going to be 480 x 800 resolution that just makes me feel sick. I'm jonesing for a full 720p "mini-tablet" smartphone. I'm craving some serious Google Nexus Prime Goodness! Yeah, the phone will sux if it has a 480 x 800 resolution. If that's the case, why not just go out and buy the Droid Bionic tomorrow?

Man, I really, really hope the Nexus Prime won't be just another dumb Samsung Galaxy S2 clone like the original Galaxy S and the Nexus S were just with a possibly changed CPU and another pseudo-limitation like the internal 16GB storage without a microSD card slot.

800x480 was nice a year ago, but now the minimum is qHD. Especially with 'showing off' what the Galaxy Note can do, it would be dumb to give the NP a WVGA resolution...

I don't really care if the Samsung Galaxy S2 is the mother of all phones. Yeah, you can't see any pixels, but pixels won't give me more space to see more in the browser and stuff.

I'm still having my HTC Desire and I want to retire it badly.

I have been waiting for over a year for the Bionic and now the Prime sticks its name in the mix....what to do. I got burnty waiting for the Nexus One and do not want to have that happen again.
