Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Is it just me or is no one else bothered by the dated GPU?

I'm sure there will be plenty of "zOMG! iPhone 4S destroys it in frame rate tests so this phone sucks!" articles from BGR and engadget. Honestly though, I have never really been a big gamer on my phone other than regular games like angry birds, archipelago, etc. I just want a smooth UI, beautiful screen, and a developer device that will get every new Google OS the day it's available.

I care more about this phone for the OS's that will be available than the GPU.

Engadget isn't that bad. Gizmodo is the worst when it comes to that

So what is this that I am hearing that the Gnex might not have a removable battery? Looks like the Razor will not but why the sudden turn away from removable batteries. That's a play right from the Apple book.

It's battery appears to be 100% removable.

Verizon confirmed on Friday that they are indeed going to carry the Nexus. We already knew that.

Here's an interesting article on the nexus from GizmoCrunch. "What was left out of the spotlight is another major feature that will further allow your Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone to utilize the exceptional hardware today's Android phones come with: hardware acceleration."

So acceleration has been optimized for every single GPU out there? from the PowerVR SGX 530, to the Adreno 100 to the Tegra2's GeGorce, etc?

Since they said all devices running 2.3 should be able to run 4.0, than they are saying acceleration has been optimized for year old hardware.

Yes, I believe so. I think older hardware will work better with the acceleration. Old hardware won't obviously won't work as well as new hardware...but users should see an improvement.

Man - I wish we'd get a definite release date. I keeping seeing November 10th...is that the latest?

yeah, its the latest report and what I am seeing is that date might be a pre-order date, seeing as the MAP from Verizon is showing a pre-order date of October 27 for RAZR

Long time lurker, finally decided to make an account :)

A little bird told me that the Verizon Nexus will definitely launch in early/mid November.
