Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

Battery is removable according to rumors I've read. SD card may be another matter.

Battery is removeable .
There is no sd card , instead has onboard storage (32G)is what I believe the onboard storage will be .
Counting down the days til its release so I can order mine .

Anyone else not a developer / etc and still want this phone?

Nice to see the nexus program churn out a device that isn't simply a dev device, but also is a worthy flagship in its own right. Specs are right in line, if not top-of-the-line

I have no developing experience whatsoever and this will be my next device

Yup I am no developer. But still getting this phone .Always wanted a phone like this, and being on vzw thought it might not ever happen.
Im ordering as soon as they are taking orders for this device ;) its what I have been saving my upgrade for .

So I guess it doesn't have Gorilla Glass.

Bummer, but not a deal-breaker for me. It just means I'll be forced to use a screen protector, which I wasn't using before.

I saw someone speculate in the other thread, and it seems logical to me, that this (like the Nexus S before it) doesn't have Gorilla Glass because of the curved screen.

I don't get the whole curved screen thing. Why does Google have such a penchant for doing this? It does not add anything functionally, and to me it doesn't even increase the design appeal. I'd much rather have Gorilla Glass than this superficial curved glass nonsense.

On the Gorilla Glass thing, I think people are forgetting just because it's not using it does not mean it won't have some other hardened/scratch resistant glass from another company. Gorilla Glass is a trademark of Corning, Inc. As far as I know, they aren't the only ones producing hardened glass.

The issue, I think, is that no one has ever publicly demonstrated a glass technology as good as Gorilla Glass.

True. The glass on the Nexus is just something that we have to wait and see tested by others with higher expendable incomes (or tech sites even) when the phone is finally released. Inevitably someone will perform scratch, drop, and nick testing.

Yup, and I look forward to being pleasantly surprised. Hopefully they've come up with something better than the Nexus S's glass. My 2.5-month old Nexus S, which I have been very careful with, has a few small, but noticeable, scratches already.

Hmmm htc event for nov 3rd.. Wanna guess what else becomes avail on preorder that day? jokin. The htc device is incredible and will do well

So Nexus goes on pre order Nov. 3rd? Guess maybe that Nov 10th launch is correct?

Since Gorilla Glass still scratches, I still use screen protectors anyway. Hopefully Steinheil can't get the Ultra Crystal to work with the curve on the GN.

Will this phone even have a preorder? No one knows about this phone other than people like us.

Completely agree. Verizon treats pre-oders like the plague anyway (Bionic, TB, etc)

Id be shocked if there was a pre-order

He did say "jokin" at the end of that too, although I can still see a preorder being done for this too. Who knows what exactly will happen. I am really looking forward to owning my first Nexus device. This is gonna be sweet for sure.
