Verizon Galaxy Nexus (Prime) Waiting Room

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet, but I just remembered that Eric Schmidt teased the Nexus S at the Web 2.0 Summit last year. Most Nexus Prime rumors seem to point to October as a release date. The Web 2.0 Summit is being held from Oct. 17-19 this year, and Vic Gundotra (Social SVP for Google) and Susan Wojcicki (SVP of Advertising for Google) will be speaking there. However, considering neither of those Google execs deal directly with Android, its a slim chance they will announce anything Nexus related there.

Also, the Asia D conference is being held from Oct. 19-21, and Andy Rubin will be in attendance. Therefore, it may be more likely Andy unveils the Nexus Prime there.

Ive got a question, what do people think about the chances of the Nexus Prime having an SD card slot for expandable memory via s microSD. Someone at work today told me the Nexus 2 didnt have one, only had internal memory. That would really suck to have hardware like that with no expandable memory.

Anyone care to speculate?

My guess would be that it will have at least limited expandable memory. The cloud argument has merit, but we all know that concept is in severe infancy. For google to rely solely on that would be naieve.

Look for 8 GB expandable, and a good size on board memory drive.

I'm willing to bet there will be no expandable storage and include at least 16GB of internal memory. Hopefully 32GB though.

A lot of posts in that thread include LED Notification. I hope Samsung gets the memo.

I would trade expandable storage for it.

Remember, don't blame Samsung...Google designs the phone, Samsung just slaps it together.

I, like the majority of the rest of Samsung's customers, still don't understand why it's such a big deal. I know what it is and what it does, but a lot of people consider it a deal breaker, which makes absolutely no sense to me.

I don't understand the big deal with the Nexus S because you can use BLN after you root. I don't miss it at all. Without the buttons to flash, I would want LEDs

I don't care to much about the expandable memory. I personally have just the 16 gb memory car that my Epic came with and its has never been full. I had at most 10gbs full b4 i emptied it onto my computer. what I would want is to be able to plug in my External Drive into it and use that as my expandable memory. Also I hope and believe that it will be 32gbs at least and maybe even 64 but that wont happen.
Sammy will have the GSII with 16 gbs and expandable memory to 48gbs so this should be 32gbs. I dont see the crazy need for the flash notifications. If your phone is in your pocket when your out how will you see it. Sorry but this feature is 1 i can care less about....

However, it should also be noted that last year Google released the Nexus S too late and largely missed the holiday shopping season. I don't expect them to repeat that mistake.

Doesn't Samsung (and other companies) design the prototype, and then Google just chooses them? I never knew Google designs it and then the company puts it together.

Google doesnt "design", rather they outline requirements and makers submit their prototype, as far as I know anyway.

tomatoe, tomato... either way, i'm fairly certain Google didn't say, "No matter what, we don't want no stinkin' LED notification light!" if Sammy wanted to put one on, they could have. i think it's silly not to have one; but i also would say that it's not a deal breaker.

I always rag on my friends when they turn their iphone on to check a message and they don't have one. The look on their face is priceless. Hopefully google doesn't make me put my foot in my mouth.

LED would be nice, no doubt.

Full day or more for LTE battery life would be better.....

Ok I can see this as a good point for you lol .... Besides my text messages i don't have anything updating
so i can save battery life. Emails i check like 1 or twice if any and facebook, twitter and G+ i open them up to update and check. There are Pros of having it , Its just not a deal breaker for me and I don't use the feature that much that i would miss it...

I think Google does designs the phone in some aspect of it. IMO they look at a phone to fit the design of the UI. so if they design the UI to have built in buttons then they would design the phone to not have them. So depending on how you view it . Google does design phones....

I love the notification light, but honestly I can do with or without.

At this point the only reason I want it to be Samsung is because of screen technology
